Bamrz, ours was doing that, it was scale buildup on the coil and in the bottom of the tank. Mr. V cleaned it up and it's working good again.

ebay question for you guys. I bought something, it was completely misrepresented and the seller agreed to refund my money. I sent the item back, he signed for it last week. How long do I have to wait for my refund before I open a dispute with ebay? It's $200 so I can't just let it go. 
That makes sense, now that you edited it.
Seriously, cleaning the heating element and the bottom of the tank might do it.

I don't know if there's a time frame on it but I'd contact him and if you get no response then open a dispute. I know for UNpaid items you have to wait for 10 days before you can open a dispute. Did you pay with paypal? If so, check and see if there is anything you can do through paypal too.

Thanks Tiff. I just sent him another email telling him that I see when it was signed for, and by whom. And asking when I can expect my refund. I did use PayPal, so I guess if I don't get a response/refund, they might help me. I bought two items, one was the creepy one, I kept the other even though he didn't send all the parts that were pictured. How creepy. 
Our water heater is over 20 years old. Mr. V keeps bringing it back from the brink of death by soaking the element in CLR and cleaning out the bottom of the tank. I would love one of those hot water on demand things, but can't have one until this old thing finally kicks it. It will probably be another 20 years.

Thanks Tiff. The ebay thing says I have to give him 7 days to respond. He did do that to my initial email, and told me to send it back. Then nothing. If I don't hear back by Monday afternoon I'll go to paypal with it. ugh.
Interesting. Ebay says he had three days to make the refund. I'll open the dispute Monday morning. Thanks Tiff, I'm a bit less frustrated now.

Mr. V decided to go pick up fish fry from the bar. I don't need to eat this late in the evening, I suspect he is avoiding helping me find homes for the Sam's stuff that still on the counters.
