Good evening all!

Well, the nap didnt happen. I had literally just told CJ to lay CJ to lay down when the phone rang. The guy buying the boat was on his way down to me, when he got in an accident. A bad one. He was changing lanes in a construction zone with narrow lanes, and some jack hole speeding flew into his blind spot and clipped him, sent him skidding into the concrete barrier, and flipped his car. He's ok, but his buddy got his jaw broken where the windsheild bar collapsed and pushed his face back into the seat.

Anywho, when I called, he said that if the lug nuts I had didnt fit, then the ones he had wouldnt either. While I was on the phone, my neighbor comes out of his house. He has a trailer, so I asked him if I could steal enough to get it rolling. He said he would, but his son took the trailer this morning. But he told me that the family owned auto parts store in town would probably have some. Sure enough, they did. For the next hour and a half, I wrestled with that damned boat/trailer in the blazing sun and low 90 degree temps. But I finally got them on. Loaded up the kids and headed out. I had forgotten how wide that trailer was. On these narrow back country roads, if the right side tire is on the white line, the left side tire is just a few inches off the yellow line. I had the same problem going through the construction zone where he wrecked this morning. After a two hour drive, we get to his house, and we start talking. I told him everything I could about the boat, he talked about his accident, found out he is a former Marine, and a lot of other topics. The next thing I know, its 5:30. His wife invited the kids in for a popcicle, where they then found that their cat (one of the kind that weighs 40 pounds) had just had kittens a couple of weeks ago. It was a small battle getting them out of the house, but I finally prevailed.

The wheels/tire I had on the trailer were borrowed, and since I was passing by the guys house that let me use them, I went ahead and dropped the tires off with him, and started home. Ive been home for all of 30 minutes now. BUT the boat is GONE. Now I just need to get in touch with the guys selling those bikes and see how that went.

Oh, and I guess all of the excursion from messing with the boat did something to help my back. It still hurts like hell, but no where NEAR the same intensity it was this morning.

Good afternoon posse.

James, my fingers are crossed for you that the boat dude shows up!

FV, YAY! Your first weekend off!

Jess, love the prayer. I'm printing it and posting on a wall in my office.

Why is it my dogs only get sick on Saturdays? How can they possibly know it's a Saturday? Too early in the weekend to wait it out for Monday, and of course late enough that you have to beg to get in at the regular vet or take them to the emergency clinic. I just dropped three provaris and two MPVs at the vet for Zach and all they know is what ISN'T wrong with him, not what IS wrong with him. :(
Oh no... Poor Zach.

Mine does the same thing. Drives nuts.

I really hope your back starts to feel better! Hope the rest of your day goes good!
You drive nuts?

When are you too old to wear a dress an inch above your knees with Capri leggings underneath?

(((Sallie))) I hope it's just a virus and he's feeling better soon.

This weekend off stuff is rough. I was outside playing hide and seek with Stretchy and Lil Sister...
Video or it didnt happen.

You REALLY don't want to see my face.
Psh. You happen to have a good looking face and some purdy blue eyes.

We don't? We've seen your face, it's adorable!
What she said!

I had no clue there were a few zillion recipes out there. I just found blueberry/maple syrup. It's going to be a tasty summer at the hut.
Are you TRYING to find the 40 pounds Tiff lost?

I'm guilty of painting rooms whatever color strikes my fancy. My dining room is orange. Not punkin orange, more like an aged terra cotta pot. Sonny hates it, he calls it my Halloween room. Of course I have paint chips stuck to the walls again, I'm thinking yellow for the summer. Maybe.....

I love color, too! I'm definitely not afraid to go a little crazy and bold. And we repaint constantly. :)

My bedroom is almost toothpaste mint green with a dark grey accent wall (it works, trust me!). My living room is dark brick red on the accent walls and a dark beige on the others. Kids' rooms are pinks and purples.

Eesh. Im the exact opposite. Mrs E hates it about me. I like my walls WHITE. Mrs E says the house looks like an igloo.

Can I have a wine break instead? :) I gotta go to the store for ice cream makings, and I'm in no mood to do it tonight.
Hellz yes you can have a wine break. Or beer. Or vodka. Or rum. Or whiskey. Or any other frosty tasty adult beverage.

There will never be a video of me playing hide and seek with chickens. While they love it, somehow I think I may find my self medicated in a quiet room somewhere if it was on video.

Come to think of it, that might not be a bad idea....... :p

It sounds like fun! :)

 It's Lil Stretchy and Lil Sister. They are a riot. I hide behind something and when they find me they jump around flapping and yelling. Then they run behind something and peek out, just waiting. When I find them they do their happy dance all over again. They just make you smile, they are such happy little gals. Too bad they can't be potty trained.

Or did you mean the medicated in a quiet room?

Im trying iron out the fine details right now, but its probably going to be around 2pm tomorrow. Maybe a little later. Gotta figure out who/how to dump the kids off. Then convince my brother to wake up before noon. But Ive got to call the seller in a bit to find out when/where he can meet me.

Just got off the phone, and its official. Dropping the kids off with my sis-in-law when I pick up my brother. Then its on the road for an hour and a half drive to go get it!

Now, I just need to find a babysitter for a couple of hours for a whole weekend so I can take the safety course.

Ive had an extremely long and tiring day. So, Im going to bed now. I hope everyone has a good night. And as long as nothing too crazy happens tomorrow, I will take/post pix of the bike tomorrow!!!

Congrats James!!!!

Oh Sallie, westelm.com has drapes on sale. :D

That's just mean...

Zach's vet just called. I'm in shock. He said he would call tomorrow to see how Zach was doing, but I can't believe he actually called tonight, AND he said he would call back tomorrow too! We've spent the last 10 years looking for a good vet. I think we might have finally found one.
