Strange, I thought it was just the metallic ones too. Supposedly the batteries are held in with double sided sticky tape, come loose and short out to the sides because they coated the inside of the cases too.

Innkoin itaste makes the MVP. Ive had mine 7months and never any issues. Super safe and worth the $50-$60
I've had my plastic groove 5 months no problems even dropped it hard on concrete. So I've decided since the only time it's out of my hand sight is at zzz time I'll just put it in one of my cast iron kettles at night.
Smoke they also have another mod having problems. Don't rember the name of it though.

I was just watching a vape show where they opened one up and were pointing at the screws on the sides. Saying they are too long and wear through the battery casing.
No, the person talking about it didn't seem like a do-it-yourself kind of person, they were going to trash it I think.
It doesn't seem like there's a lot of room in there between the sides of the battery and the edge of the case. But maybe enough room for a blob of epoxy???
Have you checked into the recall? What are they offering -refund, replacement??
