A maid would be wonderful. Still trying to win the Lottery so I can have one.:lol: It's not been working...

We had serious talk with the kids yesterday about helping me around the house more. Hopefully it got through to them. Its not a maid but maybe they'll help.

It wasn't a choice growing up in our house. If we didn't help, we were grounded for the day. If we helped, we got to go out and play as soon as we were done.

If Grams didn't think it took you long enough she sent you back to see what ya might have missed.:lol: I think that's why I hate It sooo much. Embarrassed to say but my shack showes I hate cleaning.

Good morning!

Congrats on one year James!

Sounds like a wonderful day stretchy. I still wish I was there.

No plans for the day. I should probably clean my house. Blech.

And I hate cleaning too, but I get all crabby if the hut is a mess. So I grouch through the cleaning of it. And glare at Mr. V while I do it. Maybe when Drott wins the lottery she'll get the posse maid service.

I can get behind that!

I might have mentioned my husband thinks cleaning the house consists of vacuuming. ONLY vacuuming. :glare:

Hey kids I'm alive and well touring the great state of Virginia...We're in Lexington. We visited Washington and Lee university and visited Robert.E Lee's grave as well as Travelers(his horse). Stopped by Stonewall Jackson's home...Went on a Ghostwalk which would have been a whole lot of fun except as we were waiting for it to begin we visited a public herb garden and I touched everything to get the smell on my hands to see what it was.I then rubbed my eye so I pretty much did the Ghostwalk looking thru one watery eye..but it was fun anyway.
We visited Monticello and James Madison's house in Charlottesville.I bought a case of my favorite rootbeer. We stopped in Staunton Va. on the way back to Lexington and had the most fabulous Goat Cheese and Pepper appetizer before eating some fabulous BBQ'd beef ribs..Enjoying some chocolate covered cherry in my MVP.Tomorrow we are on to Winchester Va.A town that changed hands no less than 70 times during the Civil War..I have pics if I knew how to load them onto my computer I would share them..I'll check in every now and again...Hope everyone is having fun too :)

I am as jealous as FV - sounds like a fantastic time (except the eye thing)! I never knew that about Winchester. I would have moved after the first couple of times, jeez. On the other hand, I'm betting some villages in VietNam beat that record.

Im ready to fall over now. Today was Melanie and CJ's joint birthday party. Got up this morning and hopped on the lawn mower and cut grass for about two hours. Then got out the push mower and started getting the areas the riding mower cant get to. I found a yellow jacket nest in the process. One got me on the ankle, and when I looked down, I had three or four more on my clothes. Got inside and had Kat bring me some ice. When she got up, she said I had something on my legs. Sure enough, yet another yellow jacket was crawling on me. I killed it and stripped down to my boxers (sorry for the visual) and found two more in my clothes.

I shaved and showered, and Mrs E comes in and tells me that the guy that was going to bring us the bounce house for the kids' party was already 30 minutes late. They ended up not showing up at all. Thankfully, they take payment at setup, and not when the thing is reserved.

Melanie went home with my niece and brother. Kat went home with my dad. The missus and I took CJ to Culvers. And we just got back. Im full. Im tired. My ankle hurts.

Now, I have to give my opinion on Culvers. I dont know if its because of our location so far away from the mid-west, or what, but I wasnt really that impressed. Especially not for the price. Kids meals were over $5, and my combo was nearly $9. The cheese curds, though delicious, werent as good as I was hoping for. Not a single sqweek out of them. Over all, the food was "good", just not $10 per meal "good". I will say the frozen custard was REALLY good though.

All I can think of is JD got a kayak for his cats. He hasnt been around much either. But FV said that he said he was fine and the Posse didnt need to worry.

I wrecked my motorcycle. It wasnt bad though. Slow speed, trying to make a turn through dirt and gravel in a construction area. My knee is still on the mend, but is healing nicely.

Rick actually had two almost normal days and the surface of the sun is about a half a mile away from his house.

FV is having problems with her weekends. She still cant figure out how to relax.

Drott love chasing quail and chickens in the rain.

Sallie walks around with dogs stuck to her.

Stretchy is out of town.

Punkin is showing up a little more regularly now. Still not very often though.

Did I miss anything?

James, this was the most brilliant recap ever. I vote for you for "Recap King"! The sun has moved a few yards closer to my house - it was 106 here yesterday.

Another fabulous day..We went to the natural bridge near Lexington.Thomas Jefferson originally owned the property it was on and guess who the first one to Graffiti it by carving his initials into it....The same guy who couldn't tell a lie...
GEORGE WASHINGTON. He tagged it LOL.He had to climb up really high to do it.The only way you can see it is by binoculars or a long camera lens but it's there.I wonder what it was like with all those really smart guys all in the same place all at the same time..It had to be providence.
Then instead of going to Winchester by interstate we took the back roads up the Shenandoah Valley.Bright green and pastoral.Just gorgeous...We went up to the Skyline drive through the Shenandoah National Forest and watched the Sunset on the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fab-U-los :)
I'm sorry the bouncy house didn't show up James. That sucks...I can't believe you thought Culvers was just O.K. I always get the butter burger basket and it's like $6.00 for a burger, fries, and drink..I LOVE Culvers...
Waving to Tiff.Glad you're back.I hope everything is O.K. I hope JD is O.K. too...Tiff take the puppy to obedience ASAP.The earlier the better. He's sooooo cute.
I wish you all were here.It would be so much fun!!

That's a great story! Your trip has been very educational so far. Now I have "George Washington was a tagger" trivia to share. I love obscure stuff like that. :D

Tiff, I agree with Stretchy. I always start obedience training right away - 10-12 weeks. The key is VERY short periods when they are that young - 5 minutes is about the maximum attention span for a puppy. Make it fun for them, and when they start to lose interest, time to quit. I have a couple of really good PDF files about training if you want 'em.
