This house smells SO good right now. I started a crockpot full of red beans this morning with kielbasa and a smoked ham hock in it. So good. SOOOOO good.

I'm in charge of frying the turkey. Been doing it a few years now. Can't go back to baked.

Ive fried a turkey every year for the last several. Last year was my first attempt at smoking one. This year, Im not even frying one. The smoked bird came out THAT good.

Now I just hope I can reproduce the results. If not, all we're going to have is my MiL's oven bird. Bleh.

1 part rice to 2 parts water. or 1 cup rice to 2 cups water. 3 cups rice, 6 cups water.

Add a bit of butter and salt to the water. and the rice to the boiling water, reduce to simmer and cover. Cook it until all of the water is soaked in. Done.

Question for everyone! What can I add to Creme De Menthe to make it less menthol tasting? I got the huge 120ml bottle that is still almost full when my MIL passed away and its just not my cup of tea... no offense to you V!
