I'm in and out, just playing some mahjongg. :)

I stink at that game. I'm more the tetris or bejeweled type of gamer. I tried to play one of hubbys games with him once and gave up. Too much going on at one time, going through mazes and I'd get lost and keep running into walls. Not for me.

I have a neat Scrabble game on my computer, but I swear it cheats!

So hubby asked me what I wanted for our anniversary at the end of the month. I told him a puppy. He thought at first I was kidding. I wasn't kidding. But I have a very good feeling it's gonna be a big fat NO. BUT, if I could get a puppy I want either a long hair chihuahua, pomeranian, or king charles spaniel. Shrek likes everyone but is partial to hubby. Fiona likes no one but hubby. Here I am the groomer that works with dogs for a living and I don't have my own dog. Silly, I know.

Hehe. I got home and rode around the neighborhood. Twice. :D I didnt do TOO bad for my first time... I only choked it down three times before I left the driveway... I guess its better than having too much throttle and launching it out from under myself.

Seriously though, I really dont know why it took me so long to give this a try. Even in the neighborhood and (honestly) not getting over 40mph, it was a BLAST. I can tell I will need a lot of seat time to get used to using muscles Im not used to using.

Then I threw a softball practice on top of it... my muscles arent doing so well right now... But my back still isnt doing as bad as it was last week either! I'll take the trade off!

James, did you read the page on the link you posted? You don't have to worry about registering or insuring your bike yet, they will provide one for you! :) AND it's a crotch rocket! Buell Blast.

It isnt a crotch rocket! I cant say its a cruiser either... its just... weird lookin'.

Also, you might not have to make an additional trip to the DMV after you take the course. Here in PA, they validate your permit by stamping it that you've passed the MSF course with the date and sig of the instructor. I had to carry that around until my regular license was up for renewal. I was so stoked to get that "M" endorsement!

If I understand SC right, I have to take the waiver to the DMV. The waiver just exempts the rider from having to take the DMV skills and knowledge tests. I will still have to go up there to get the "M".

And you don't need all of the safety gear before the course. Just some stuff you might already have (except for a helmet). I took the course on one of their little 125 or 250's. I didn't buy my bike until after the course, and had it delivered. My first few outings were down the block, and up the road to the elementary school parking lot, just to get used to it. Then I picked out a nice straight road, early on a Sunday morning with little traffic, to start getting used to riding.

The course requires helmet, boots, gloves, jeans, and a heavy sweatshirt or riding jacket, and eyewear. I already have the helmet, boots, and jeans. The rest I will have to purchase before the course.

And it might not be your head that gets the worst of it from the course! Your eyeballs are going to be VERY tired! Mine were even worse when I first started on regular streets, from all the looking to see if anyone was pulling out on me and watching for potholes and all that.

I think I can live with that!

ETA: James, depending on the size you take, I can mail you a DOT half helmet that's perfect for the course. It doesn't cover your ears, and isn't as hot as a full face. I'm not sure if it's a L or XL.

I have two helmets, both full face. One that I used when I drag raced, and the other that came with the bike. I wont ask to borrow a half helmet, but I wont turn it down either. ;)
Oh, and as far as the DMV is concerned, I have to have insurance before I can register it. So, I am now insured. We have a company softball game/picnic Friday. Im going to see if I can play my cards right and duck out as early as possible to get to the DMV to get the registration/taxes/plates/permit taken care of. Then I will be able to ride legally! On REAL roads!

Let him get one. Just take out extra life insurance.:lol:
Funny... My wife said she did that before she told me I could get one. :glare:

And the next day, and the next,:lol:
I tried tell that to my wife... It worked for one day. Then she found out that after two days, she had four loads of laundry to wash, dry, and fold. She was less than thrilled. I keep trying to tell her that she needs to make Kathryn start doing some laundry. She's more than capable. Especially with them being out of school in a couple of days. Put them kids to WORK!

:tumble::tumble::tumble::tumble::tumble::tumble:

I'm all alone...
With the voices in my head, Im never alone.

Glad you got to ride the bike a bit. I think it would be fun to ride.

I'm happy that your back is feeling better.

As long as you don't listen to the voices in your head, then it's ok.

It is! And Im not even a real "rider" yet!

Me too!

They dont listen to me, so why should I listen to them?

I watched that show the other day. I was drooling.
Apparently, Penn Brewery has a BLT that is off the menu... Its called the Super Stack BLT. It has THIRTEEN types of bacon, THIRTY SEVEN PIECES total, including a bacon bun and bacon mayo! There is some lettuce and tomato on the sandwich, but I think its more for color than anything else.

And...he's hooked. My dad taught me to ride (yeah, on a full-sized bike, a 90cc Honda) when I was 8. I've been riding ever since. It gets into your blood. :)
