Mornin' all.

Friday night involved frosty adult beverages and the mancave for a solitary movie night. I went upstairs at about 1am and fell asleep on the couch.

Saturday was hectic. We went to CJ's basketball game. It's no where near as fun as watching him play football. They lost. 8-2. Seriously. Five shot were scored by both teams. I think CJ's team's biggest problem is the fact that one kid gets the ball, then will run left and right, wont pass, wont shoot, then loses control of the ball, usually to the other team. Then none of them really like trying to take a shot, apparently. At least football was fun to watch. This was just blech. BUT.... CJ had fun. MIL got a picture of him either scratching his .... or pulling out a wedgie. He wont admit to doing either. But its on camera. :D

Kat and I had to leave the game early to get to the potential new team's practice. For two hours, I realized that this young team (most have never held a full size regulation softball before) was basically a hodge-podge rec ball team. They have the potential to be really good, but I just dont think that this is what Kat needs. She needs to be pushed to get better. Not think that she's already better than the whole team, so she doesnt have to give it all she can. Then Mrs E showed up to drop the other two off with me while she went to work, watch for five minutes, and said "Well, Ive seen all I need to see... Contact that other coach". Now we're waiting to see if the coach that had been bugging me for months still has an open spot. Once their practice was over, I worked Kat hard in the field, then let her pitch a few buckets. While she was pitching, I was slamming wiffle balls into the field for Melanie and CJ to try to catch. In total, we spent 5 hours on the field, but they all had fun. Ket ended up falling asleep on the futon in her room while I was cycling Mel and CJ through the shower. Once they went to bed, I fell asleep on the couch until Mrs E came home. I remember trying to talk with her, but I dont guess it worked very well. The next thing I remember, Mel and CJ were jumping on me at 7am.
Sunday was Sunday school, the obligatory Walmart trip, then back to the church for service. It was a Children's service, so the little ones sang in the children's choir. Made it home where the inlaws met us. I then spent the rest of the afternoon watching football, yelling at the kids to shut up so I could watch football, and ignoring the wife while she tried to get me to do stuff while football was on. After the Panthers won their game, I watch the Bills spank Green Bay while I threw lights on the tree. Thankfully, we are DONE with shopping and decorating.

Today has been garbage. I left my personal cell at home and didnt realize it until it was WAY too late to go back. The rest of the morning was going ok. I was getting out of an all hands meeting, and I took the quiet time to dig back into the returns. Three hours later, I back out of the application to check something else, and when I go back in, my return is gone. Three hours of work...just gone. Logistics Management is looking into it now. If they cant find it, Im screwed. Ive already disposed of a lot, and wrapped up most of the rest.

I dislike that Tiff.

I have one gift to purchase, a small one for Mr. V. We are going to give random gifts again this year, we like doing it, and the it makes the day of the recipients. The kids can buy their own stuff.
One random gift for Mr V will be inbound this weekend.

Sounds like you need a vacation James. I don't see how you keep up with all that stuff.

All my errands are done and I even got a bit of Christmas shopping for Morgan done. I think she's about done except for some leather cowgirl boots she wants. Alex still has a ways to go. Everyone else in the family is getting gift cards so I'll get those on payday Friday. I went to work and picked up my check and made it to the bank too. My eyelids are closing as I type. I must have woken up 5 times last night for no reason. I have presents out to wrap in a little bit.

Hope everyone's Moanday is going good.

Bite your tongue. You are not a bad pet owner. But welcome to the ranks of the "unfit for adoption ranks." They won't let me because Victor is not neutered.

We both have healthy, happy, spoiled dogs Drott, they should be jumping at the chance for either of us to adopt. Idiots.

I'm a bad pet owner. Just got turned down for adoption. Because my girls aren't on heart worm meds.

Drott's dog shack on the move.

Eyes examined, new contacts in. I'm not sure how I like these, they are bifocal contacts. He said to give them a week or so, let myself adjust. I keep looking for my glasses, this is super weird. I braved Hellmart for tp, paper towels, and dish soap. Even checked myself out. What a pain. No one was hurt on that adventure, but I did get to practice my nastiest scowl quite a bit. :D

It's raining and in the low 40's here. The snow is almost gone, but all this rain will freeze tonight. Joy.

We couldn't adopt because we don't have a fenced in yard. Since we live in a subdivision I take my dogs out on a leash. Fiona won't run off but I'm afraid something will run off with her. We have foxes and coyotes around here. Sometimes these adoption requirements are ridiculous.

I braved Walmart today too. I had to. I needed a hodge podge of stuff that I could get all there instead of going to three different stores for it.

Presents never got wrapped. I fell asleep a couple of hours before Morgan came home thinking it would give me time to get a quick nap and be up by the time she came in. Nope. I slept right through her coming home and the dogs barking because she came home. She woke me up a few minutes after she got home. And I could probably go back to sleep now if I tried.

FV! Is Mr V scared yet? Or have you failed to tell him that there will be a random gift heading his way this weekend?!?!

It might end up being Victor's, but it'll still be AWESOME!

So, all in all, there was a total of three hours wasted today on my return that disappeared. I found out that none of it got saved on the servers, so there is no way of recovering it. I get to start from scratch. Again. After I tear the pallet back apart, then go dumpster diving for the matierals that were "dispose on site". OH, I did find out what happened, though. Some m0ron decided that they would apply a patch to the protocol on the servers after 8am. "I guess they figured it was still early enough that it wouldnt affect anyone". Thanks dumb.....es. So, with the wasted 3 hours, plus the hour of troubleshooting, plus the one hour it will take to get everything back out, plus the three hours it will take to re-process everything, I lost one full day of work. :grr:

Drott's dog shack on the move.
 I dont hardly think so.... From what I know, you treat the pups better than you treat hubby!

Xena isn't on them either. Not because I have anything against them, but the vet made funny sounds when talking about flea meds (liquid) and heartworm meds. Because Xena is so tiny, the vet was babbling about dosages and to me it sounded like "Hey, let's just guesstimate!". Nope. Don't think so.

Drott, have you tried Petfinder? A lot of them are private people, and they might not be as tight-azzed. I went that route for my last Rottie, because the one I adopted from the SPCA turned out to be a biter. :(

Petfinder is a good site!

We give Shrek horse wormer for heartworm. Get it at the feed store for about $20 and lasts several months. The other two get theirs from the vet but in all honesty I only do it during the summer months when mosquitoes are at their peak.

I've wrapped two presents.

@James: I just told him. He said he doesn't get scared. He lives with me.

The adoption places may have their hearts in the right place, but really are a bit ridiculous in their requirements. And now that I found out that the rescues pull all the pups from the humane societies, I'm not going to use a rescue, ever. Humane Society here: $35 Rescue here: $250 to $350. I smell a scam.

Sounds sorta like what I used to do before working at the PO. I had a spot in an antique store, and would make the rounds of about 5 thrift shops and pick up antiques for thrift shop prices and mark them up. Not to full antique prices, but enough to make some money and sell quickly.

I can't think of a thing to buy for hubby's parents. They are the hardest people in the world to buy for. And a gift card is out of the question. The last time I gave them a gift card they turned around and gave it away several months later....to me. They forgot I gave it to them. She told me she doesn't used gift cards. :?:
