Don't know where to put this so put it here. I have an auth copper panzer with auth copper plume veil. I got a new Panasonic 18650 3400 MAH batt. It fired one day in the panzer with plume Atty.. Now it is random for a few seconds.. It will fire in any other mod and Atty pair but not with the plume. Is it maybe just the build on the panzer? Its 5 wrapped 22 ga parallels... But every other batt fires it even a vtc4.. I. Really annoyed cuz the Panasonic is seriously a beast.. When it fires.. Any suggestions? I've messed with the pins except knocking the positive pin out and.. Since other batts will fire it didn't seem necessary.. Is it a dud? o_O

Serious? That Panasonic is a 6.8 amp battery.

Not suited for your intended use.

Really suprises me it is intact but if you did use that "beast" with that setup, I would be inclined to belive you have rendered it useless and ready to be recycled.

As this is a Battery issue....Moved to batteries and Chargers from APV Discussion

Whelp...

Do you know the basics on the ins and outs of ohms law?

It is kind of important to get to know the basics of battery safety.

In your op you mentioned a build using parallel 22 gage wire, wrapped 5 times. Do you know the diamater?

Just for a ballpark figure I plugged a 2mm Dia coil into the vapes toolbox calculator and guesstimated your build to be .15 ohms.

That would be a 26.67 amp draw on the battery.

That is pretty much everything a Sony vtc series battery has to offer.

A Panasonic NCR18650B battery is not suitable for your aplication in any way.

It has a 6.8A max continuous draw rating.
It is a low drain battery.
It is a hybrid chemistry battery but is much closer to ICR chemistry (which is a volatile chemistry) than a safer chemistry IMR battery.

You got lucky the Panasonic just died a peaceful death and didn't vent. That was a distinct possibility (or it is a protected version of the 18650b and shut down due to detecting a short).

Do some research here on battery safety.

Start with this:

Your build is extreme. You need some knowledge to back an extreme build and use it safely.

As I mentioned, there was a chance that battery could have vented violently and caused injury to you or someone around you. You got lucky.

I know ohms law. I respect my preferred vape shop.. There's 5 in town haha so when offered a 3400 mah battery I was down. Ive done the research now to understand i shouldve not been offered that battery as I was purchasing a new panzer.. Being long time friends and knowing I only sub ohm. i don't know how they could've offered it to me. I'm kinda shocked. I trusted them to know me as a feiend and their stuff.my bad to on being in a hurry and not asking questions I suppose.

If they offered that battery and knew it was going in that setup...

Wow. That shop was not looking out for you at all.

With the build you have and using a mech mod, you have to be the safety feature. You need the knowledge to know what battery is "the one" that you need.

Depending on a shop to "hook you up" leads to the situation you have now.

All I have are vtc5's and was grabbing another just cuz I could.. He offered the Panasonic saying it was new with higher output than even vtc5. I really should have stayed an chatted.

As said before, you're very lucky you didn't vent that battery with the low ohm build that you have. The 30 amp Sony's can handle the amp draw (and your build is pushing even that battery) of the coil, the Panasonic can't. There's more to choosing a battery than picking one with the highest mAh rating. With sub-ohm builds, amp rating is EVERYTHING.

Your vape shop consultants need to learn more about battery specs and Ohm's Law calculations before they can recommend batteries.

Chipotle.
Hold up for a second, flag on the play. Things not adding up, at least to me.

Aethertech never produced a copper Plumeveil to my knowledge, all of the authentic plumeveils were released as stainless steel.
Thanks for your replies. I'm going to get it exchanged. The fact that I'm not dead let's me say atleast my low serial copper panzer didn't get hurt either haha love this thing. Better than my black hawk IMO
There is no Authentic Copper Panzer that has ever been produced either and from everything I have gathered they are ALL clones. Masterpiece Custom Vapes only recognizes the Panzer Blackhawk, the Original Stainless Steel and the Brass Golden Army as far as I am aware. If you were sold a Copper Panzer as the real thing and paid real deal price for it then you've been had IMO.

Wherever you bought this setup from seems incredibly shady, Clones pawned off as authentic and a battery not suited for mech mod use...? But you say you know these people? You should REALLY have asked a WHOLE LOT more questions.
