the cheapest i was paying for a pouch of drum tobacco was $26.69 before tax. the most expensive was about $29.
they're likely more than that in my area now, they seemed to go up about $2 every 6 months. the one place i used to go to regularly hiked up their price because i mentioned offhand that they still sold pouches of drum for under $25, when the nearby macs were asking a few dollars more than that. ;>.<

At the Wawa here in NJ, Marlboros are $7.13 + 7% sales tax. Generics & Pall Malls are $5.84 + tax. Some other brands are in the $8.00 range. Interestly a couple of years ago Walmart was $8.50 + Tax a pack for Marlboros when the Wawa was under $6.50. Now at my local Walmart, they don't even carry them. Guess they went stale, nobody I know would pay $2.00 a pack more when they can go 2 blocks to another store that is cheaper.

Sure glad I quit 'em.

The convenience stores around here rotate the name brands for around $3.25 a pack. A carton after tax is $36. Still expensive, but better than $45 and $50. You have to change brands periodically to stay in the low range. My wife still smokes. I can't seem to get her to switch to vaping, although she pulls out her 510 from time to time. She says my eGo/Boge cartos are harsh. To me they are smooth. I'm thinking of getting her a KR808.

Sounds like my situation Dave :D; except just outside of Philadelphia, cartons run ~$55 to $60.

Seems strange that California wouldn't have one the higher prices on cigarettes

Holy cow!! Twenty comes in a pack here. Marlboros are almost $5, and I switched to Sonomas which are about $3.45. At the grocery store yesterday, they were $3.00. Oddly, this is after my guy and I quit smoking, so I think they are missing our business :D!! At Go-Mart, I would get a carton for $32 after tax and everything on a good day.

$8 sounds about right for brand names here in Mass. Stopped buying those a long time ago in favor of roll your own. Those were costing me less than $3 a pack. We also have a store with a high speed rolling machine where you can get a carton for $26.50. Taxes are supposed to be going up soon though, yet again! They are using our "sin tax" money to make everywhere smoke-free! grrrrr... Glad I have switched almost totally over to using my pv!
