I currently spend $30 per carton, roughly a carton a week. How much does it cost to vape instead of smoke?

When I smoked $33 was the cheapest readymade carton. And I bought a carton every 3 days. Been vaping, at first doing both, vaping & smoking, later, after a year or so, dropped the tobacco totally. Took the Big Batt ProVari and 5 mL Tanks for me to have nuff power and juice to last a workday, (12 hour days), and quit tobacco. That first year I prolly put a grand in crap trying to find the right combination that would get me off tobacco. Last 5 months no tobacco, in fact, no nicotine and no Flavor Added. I DIY my eLiquid. I'm not an average vapor, actually not average anything. I'm unique to my core. And, my eLiquid cost is out 3 decimals. .006 per mL, 10 to 15 mL per day off. JMHO

Cheers,

hiram, do you mind if I ask where you buy your nic liquid? I buy from RTS and don't spend near that much. I also buy 100mg by the 1000ml. It's very good nic.

MyFreedomSmokes is having a sale right now and you can get 1000ml x 100mg for $139.95. They also have documentation on their website showing that they're selling the good stuff.

My Dad has saved a LOT of $$$$, he doesn't want or NEED to try everything. On the other hand I have purchased most of the mods available. This would have been costly enough but I also have to try all the new tanks, cartos, attys & even drip tips, not to mention the rebuildable atties like 4 different Genisis atties and Iatty I have bought. So have I saved an money? NOPE, but I feel great and my health is better than ever=PRICELESS.

It used to cost me upwards of £25 a month to roll my own cigarettes. Which to be fair was quite cheap. If I was a pack a day smoker here it would cost me £5+ a day and around £150 a month.

Now that I have the vaping gear I like and all the 'start up' costs are out of the way, it costs me about £8 for 2 months to make my own liquid. If I don't make my own I can get 50ml for £10 meaning a good month of vaping for me is £10. Cheaper than rolling my own and much, much, much cheaper than if I smoked packs.

The cost effectiveness cannot really be an issue until you figure out what really works for you. After I got my gear situated, and learned how to DIY, I now spend about $20 (sometimes less) on vaping per month. This is when the savings really add up.

For some people it's pretty cheap I guess. My sister has never been on the forum evah (imagine that!) and has an ego and just gets juice and cartos. I order them for her because apparently even that is too much of a strain. She also doesn't vape 100% :smokie:

If you hang around the forum, it's very tempting to want to try everything you see, but I think the support here helps you stay motivated and keep vaping.

That is the key really - avoiding trying everything you see. Estimating hardware costs, hardware life, juice (I DIY), etc. I am spending $20 a month. I have not fallen into buying a new PV everytime I hear about one (some do as it becomes a hobby more than a change in life)...

I am researching and comparing now to upgrade what I have, but still keeping it to a budget limit. I will not buy a provari or one of the other extravagant PV's as for me it is a way to stay off of analogs - not a new hobby. The money I am saving is going to enjoyable things in life (at least for me) - vacations... I can afford them now (woooohoooo)...

Not counting hardware, just daily consumables like cartos and juice I'm running at about $1.50 - $2.00 a day.
I buy 100mg unflavored nic from rts, I get conc. flavours and dekang and PG/VG from healthcabin and I get the occasional tasty juice doublers from juicewh ore.com.

That's a .... ton better than $21 a day. $14 bucks a pack here....yep, I know.

Shipping is a killer though, if I planned it better and bought more I could save a bundle on shipping, but still at these prices I could buy a new starter kit a week with heaps of prefilled cartos and still save money.
