Greeting Folks, I am a noobie to the whole ecig scene here.

Recently we started buying my father disposable electronic cigarettes in an attempt to stop my father from burning down the house; have mentioned that in other threads. I had used eCigs for a period of time before moving back home to help care for my father. I pretty much stopped altogether when I moved in even though I might puff once a week to month.

Now getting that out of the way.

I have been putting together a cost Analysis of Purchasing and using the Disposable Cigarettes versus Buying a Starter Kit and ejuice.

For the most part, those of us who have used Disposables know that the Claims on the Sides of the Packaging are PURE-CRAP. That is Claims such as 500 puffs and that one Disposable can be equal to two packs, 40 pcs, of cigarettes is essentially SHENANIGANS.

Moving right a long with my Question. How much ejuice does a single disposable Square 82, for example, eCig contain?
Since the form factor of the Typical eCig that is used as a Disposable generally holds between 1.0mls-1.2mls; that is what I used in my Analysis. Would a typical Disposable hold less than 1.0ml total?

However, does anyone know a precise amount that is used in the Disposables? Would my reckoning of roughly ~1.2mls be close to reality?

Via the Analysis I'm performing I'm trying to work out how many eCigs it would take to replace smoking an entire Carton of Analog Cigarettes. That an also workout how many Milliliters of eJuice it would require to replace a Carton of Cigarettes after an eCig kit is purchased.

So far with the numbers I have used it would take about 12.5 Disposable Cigarettes to replace an entire Carton. Not using the Disposable, using a Regular PV, it takes about 15mls of eJuice total to replace smoking an entire Carton.

So cost wise with the Disposables costing roughly $8 after taxation and licensing it would cost about $100 to buy the 12.5 throw-away ciggies.

With the PV and 15mls of Juice its closer to $55; and that is including the cost of PV kit right off the bat. Figure about $40 for a standard 510 Kit and about $1 a Milliliter when purchasing the Juice in somewhat larger sizes, like 50mls bottles.

My advice: Get a lavatube starter kit, vivi nova tank, and a sampler ejuice package from somewhere. If you dont want a big one thats vv, I would go with ego or kgo .. Either are fine. All three of those kits will be hassle free and only needs to be cleaned once a week in my case.

And I think used ones will hold like 15 drops? And new ones around 30? I may be wrong I dont use cartos, but I think I read that somewhere.

You will save more money by far if you just buy a kit and refill yourself. I think you will do even better if you use something other than cartos (CE4s or CE3s) as your juice reservoir. A lot of the juice in a carto is absorbed into the poly fill and never actually vaped. I also find them more wasteful to refill. I also end up with a lot of juice on the outside of the carto, and don't like the taste of the liquid or the weird numbness from the nicotine on my lips.

Also, I found as I vape more, that I get less tolerant of the decreased performance of a carto as its starts to get dried out a bit. I get a cleaner vape from start to finish on one of the other systems.

Honestly, you can probably get a workable startup kit a bit cheaper than $50. This is especially true if you do not care about form factor. I started with kr808d cigarette sized batts and carts and pretty quickly moved to a volt X2 and clearos and ce3s. I still use the cigarette sized batts, but for the most part prefer the X2 despite it being like 8 inches long with everything hooked up :)

You can get a volt for like $20 with a charging cable and then buy carts, clearos, or whatever and use them with that. It also functions as a pass through, meaning you can vape from it while it is charging. Lastly, it has enough battery life to last all day for a lot of people. I think this is the cheapest way to get started and still have a setup that will be functional if you switch full-time without having to make a lot more investment in batteries. I don't mean to necessarily plug smokeless image, but I have been happy with their products so far and they offer a fair price and good service. There are probably other vendors that have very similar functionality, I just don't have any personal experience with them.

I think the Egos offer similar functionality, but may not always have the pass through functionality. My friends, at least, has the charging port on the same side of the battery as where the carts screw on, meaning you can't charge and vape at the same time.

Though I said that I don't prefer cartos, I still recommend that you start with at least a sampler pack of cartos so your get a feel for what you like, then start investing in buying bottles of favors you think you would enjoy and better delivery methods.

Ignore the advice to get a lavatube. They are expensive, large and completely unnecessary. You'd be better off getting your hands on a pair of ego twists. They are also variable voltage, cheaper than a lavatube, and much smaller while lasting nearly as long. Get the 1000mah battery size. Toss on a Vision Vivi Nova tank, learn to rewick the atomizer in it, DIY your own juice and for around 150-200 bucks you'll be set for months, with little 20-50 dollar boosters in juice supplies (liquid nicotine, VG, PG, flavors, bottles, syringes ), more vivi novas (for different flavors) etc, every few months. I got my costs down to 15 cents a day to vape. Then there's the big box you need to organize all this stuff in lol.

The lavatube is 60 bucks + shipping and that's without the battery, which you'll need 2 and a charger. Before you know it you've spent well over 100 bucks to get a device that goes to 6 volts where nobody vapes at because it's too strong and too hot. Most juices can't take it and most vapers can't either. You'll find these people go out and get Provari Variable Voltage PV's for 200 bucks-ish and park the thing on 4.5v or somewhere thereabouts. For a similar effect they could have gotten a 10 dollar USB passthrough and a car adapter and although they'd always be tethered to an outlet, pc, or cigarette lighter in the car, they'd also be $190 richer for it. The ego twist goes from 3.2volts to 4.8volts which is where 99% of these vapers on the forums keep their PVs set anyway. Altsmoke has them for about 26 bucks. You'll need a pair of them and a charger (around 5 bucks). That's 57 bucks plus shipping (just a couple more bucks from altsmoke - there's tax if you live in Ohio), and a heck of a lot less than 120+ for a lavatube setup and a lot more portable. Plus if you break one you're not out 70 bucks you're out $26. There are no crazy buttons to hit to figure out what voltage you're on, just a potentiometer on the bottom, the battery bottom is a knob is layman's terms with notches and numbers to let you know what voltage you are set at. It's twist and go. Then you can take your extra 50 bucks or so and spend it on juice and vivi novas. :)

About disposables. I bought one from Pure Smoke called the "One". It was 7 bucks or so at the liquor store and it was supposedly good for 2 packs worth of nicotine. 3 hours later it was dead before I even killed one of the cartridges and the vapor was so underwhelming it was ridiculous. There is no way to recharge them, they are just crap. Pure and utter crap. Later I went to the mall and they had a kiosk in the middle of the aisle that let you try before you buy. Their tiny 808 style e-cigs were 100 bucks and they weren't bad at the time but now I realize from experience that they are a gigantic ripoff. There is only one way to fly - get a real PV and you won't be disappointed. Just remember, in the end you are going to save money. I had to scrape together every penny to get my setup but now, a few months later, I have already paid that off and then saved my initial investment on top of being paid back. And that's just 3+ months. It'll take you about a month or so to pay off your original investment if you are a pack a day smoker. Believe me when I tell you that your life is about to change and you are totally worth the investment. Am I right or am I right?
