I've been reading a lot on DIY E-juice and what it takes to get started. I'm wondering if anyone has has figured out the cost of lets say a 30ml of DIY E-juice. We could use a 12mg or 18mg nic strength for an avg. I can imagine the freedom one gets from mixing your own juices to taste. But it would also be helpful to get an idea on the cost to get started, and then the cost per bottle once all your mixing equipment supplies have been purchased.

    No you can't
It depends on nicotine strength, pg/vg and percent of flavor. You can get 60mg 250 ml nicotine $22.00 that's the biggest expense.

Most use around 10% to 20% flavor.

    Mix at nicotine level 18mg

    247 ml 60mg nicotine $ 22.00
    440 ml pg................. $ 9.95
    145 ml flavor .............$ 27.00
    -----------------------------------
    832 ml..................$ 58.95

I get all my stuff from http://wizardlabs.us/index.php?route=common/home

    Here's a link to a free juice calculator that's pretty good http://www.breaktru.com/

I all depends on what nic base you want to buy. 12 mg, 24 mg, 36 mg, 48 mg, 60 mg, 100 mg.
I buy 120 mls of 48mg nic base and dilute to 12mg, so a 120ml bottle you can make 480 mls of juice because you diluting it by fourths with either PG or VG, Then adding flavoring . I probably make 30 ml bottles for around 2 - 3 dollars.

    Good Luck,
    Russ.

My calculator(hotrods) tells me that the 30ml I just mixed up cost me $1.33 :2cool:

I tend to use Wizard Labs or My Freedom Smokes, and purchase by the half liter, 100 mg/ml.

Including shipping costs, flavoring and PG/VG, but not amortizing my mixing gear (much of which was either free or scavenged from the kitchen anyway), my price currently is $0.022 per ml, or $2.20 for 100 ml.

It's always fun to chat with my cousin (who likes Mt. Baker) and mention that my last batch of 500 ml of e-liquid cost me $11. And no shipping.

I make my own menthol flavoring, however, and vape 5 mg/ml liquid, so your mileage will vary a lot.

That's just the cost of the liquids....don't forget you have to add the cost of bottles, maybe a dripper to test the joose, measuring devices, ultra sonic device (optional of course) etc. :D

I buy my nic by the liters. I Vape 6mg nic, my husband Vapes 18mg nic. Here's the cost on how I make our juice...

    1000ml 6mg nic juice = $30 shipped = .03 per ml
    1000ml 18mg nic juice = $40 shipped = .04 per ml

I buy my flavoring from Flavor west in bulk at .05 per ml (shipping cost included)

    Final cost for my ejuice:

    6mg flavored ejuice

    50 ml costs $1.95
    100ml costs $3.90

    18mg flavored ejuice

    50ml costs $2.45
    100ml costs $4.90

Me and my husband both chain Vape. We go through at least 20 ml a day. But... Making our own juice we spend only $26.40 a month. A huge saving. Plus, my juices are much better than any gourmet juices out there. I can mimic any favor out there. Right now I'm vaping my version of suicide Bunny's Mothers milk and its yummy.

No one brought this up I'm surprised. :D

When you get your supplies and ready to mix your first batch, mix it in small mounts until you find the flavor you like and write everything down.

The hardest part of DIY is coming up with your own recipe mixes.

Pick up some 2- 1ml, 2- 3ml, 2- 5ml syringes and it wouldn't hurt to have a 20ml to start off with, stay away from the eye dropper if you can liquid consistency will effect the size of the drop.

I use Liquid Nicotine for my purchase unless there is a coupon code for High Desert Vapes which sale the WL nic. I got tired of paying for the smaller bottles of pg and vg and went ahead a purchased a gallon of each from http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-218/1-Gallon-Veg-Glycerin/Detail and have been very pleased with it. I am using all Vaping Zone gourmet and concentrated flavorings because you use such a small amount, I feel like it is more economical.

There is the initial startup cost (as with any other hobby) but the results are fantastic. I like what I make better than anything I have ever purchased and it saves money. The best reason is because I know exactly what is in my juice. It is just a lot of fun.

Good luck to you and your DIY'ing. I look forward to reading about your new adventure (and maybe getting some tips). :)

My biggest expense in diy was glass dropper bottles and also glass storage bottles for nic. All boston round bottles in various sizes. I bought about a dozen of each size to start out up to 250ml and spent about $200 on them with shipping. Now Ive used them over and over again and each time I use them they pay for themselves. That one investment was the smartest one I made. I also dont have to worry about plastics leeching into my juice... or how stubbornly plastics hold on to smells. They just never cleaned well at all. Glass solved all that for me. The time savings alone in ease of cleaning glass is worth it to me. Soak em, rinse em, dry em overnight, done.

No matter how hard I tried plastic bottles were pesky and I got tired of tossing bottles because I couldnt get the last juice smell out. I tired literally everything. I wouldnt trade my glass bottles for anything.

The price on the gallons of pg and vg are amazing, my questions how long do i normally have until the 2 gallons go bad. My wife and I vape about 10ml a day between the two of us. At that rate we would use up the 2 gallons in a year and a few months.
