So I've had a horrible experience with cotton in the past and I took a break from trying to get it to work properly and finally! Today I got it working just great but I can still kinda taste a chemical taste I think? Its not metallic or anything its just a weird taste and my juice does not taste as good as it does with silica. It does kinda taste good but I kinda taste the chemical taste from time to time.

I did some research on the cotton I've used and I can't seem to find anything that does not tell me its organic.

Cotton I used: Swisspers Organic Triple Size Cotton Balls | drugstore.com

Anyone else used the same or had a similar experience ?
Also if its worth mentioning the cotton smells kinda weird in the first place.

Any advice?

Not really any advice, but I did notice in the description that hydrogen peroxide is used for whitening. The stuff I get is organic, and it is obvious that it is not as white as other stuff in the store isle. And it has no smell at all.

Hmm, I see, Well I can't get a hold of any cotton since my drug store don't really sell any, Weird right? And my local food shop etc don't have any organic/sterile either so I'm stuck with this that I purchased off ebay.

Yup! :)

Good info in case you've not seen it...MyWikkaSite: Cotton Wick Wiki

Oh! Good info there, We'll I'm really excited to have a really good vape with cotton and I actually found 100% organic cotton balls that does neither smell or taste weird at all! I really had to look around to get these and I finally found something that works.

So, For other people even considering purchasing swisspers cotton balls, stay away from them unless you are prepared to boil (which I'm not) :D

Thanks :)

OMG!!.. I've been trying to use cotton as well and kept getting this damn weird taste just like you're saying. And this is the exact same cotton balls I picked up.. Swisspers Organic.. It's nice to know it's not just me!!

I found this stuff last week: Cotton Biowick 3mm. Seems pretty sweet I would definitely order some if they sold 1mm or 2mm.

I use organic cotton balls as well and never had an issue with taste. Just pull em apart until its nice and loose, gently form the shape without rolling the whole thing, then roll the tip so you can thread it through. When installing it in the coil there should be just a little bit of resistance. Key is to get it loosely packed I've found.

I'm also waiting on some 2mm organic hemp wick to give a try as I'm looking for something a bit more durable than cotton.

Ah, We'll swisspers organic cotton worked for a little bit for me but I could still taste a little bit of the cotton it self for a while but you got used to it after some time.

But yea I will avoid it unless I don't have any other or any silica.
