I thought I got a higher mg strength by mistake for after just one to two vapes my ears would be ringing.I just got some new liquids, decided to try cotton bacon 2, and kept getting after taste.
I had to wick a vertical coil, cotton bacon tears easy,so I went back to original cotton and after taste and ringing went away. Then I could chain vape without ears ringing.
If anyone has had any reactions to cotton please post.
The taste is always there using cotton bacon. With Japanese cotton it might be the first vape but it goes away.
All my other cotton has black seeds but cotton bacon seeds are all white. Is it treated?

    I kinda understand this phenomenon.

For me its wooden spoons. Remember those that came with school lunches or sometimes come with premade foods? Everyone could enjoy what ever they were eating, but me.... OH damn, I could not eat without twitching and my ears would hurt. I think Im showing my age, cause its all plastic sporks these days.

Could be the nic being intensified by the wicking material. I know rayon is enjoyed by many because the nic delivery is better.

I can only use KGD ( original organic cotton to hit the vaping world ) and one brand of cotton balls by Organyic. All else leaves an aftertaste similar to sucralose and other synth sweeteners.

    It's boiled cotton...
CB v2 is the best cotton I ever use... All the japanese cottons out there, are unfortunately synthetic cotton or clones...

Why do you need to misinform others?
What you have said is completely untrue.

For me all cotton is just cotton.
I stopped using cotton pads (like Japanese cotton) because I saw a lot of cotton "dust" when I was cutting it. Otherwise I do not see difference between wicks with lowly cotton balls, Japanese cotton, and cotton bacon. May be some of them just more convinient to use, but wicking properties are about the same.

    And some pictures:
