Cotton wick for Ego-T Type A/B atomizer repair

I went through a lot of links and threads on this awesome forum and i was thinking, if cotton wicks can be used to repair an Ego-T Type A or Type B Atomizer. Cotton wicks are used to rebuild the vivi rebuild-able tank, they mainly are a substitute for silica wicks. There the coil is wound around the wick.

So my question is wouldn't the wick stays directly over the coil (incase of Ego-t) , won't it get burned or wouldn't it have a burning taste or worse we start inhaling carbon from the burned wick.

Just asking, any suggestions would work.

The hole in the spike will restrict the flow too much and hence will not work (wick) properly, and you guessed it will burn

Thanks switched. just to clarify, what you are saying is that even if we pinch a really small amount of cotton (the size of the current silica wick), and try this it might not work(wick) properly and end up burning.

That would be correct, cotton needs expansion to properly wick.

Hi Lycan.....guess what buddy, I have already tried this method..and it works, I was frustrated with the leaking of the Ego T cartridges B type, no matter what I did it leaked after a while. so I went ahead and modded it cause there wasn't much too lose.

I entirely removed that metallic cone (with the tiny silica wick inside it) sitting over the coil. then carefully stuffed a small amount of cotton the size of a Match stick head, it will stay there if you poke it lightly down the side of the coil, then rolled up a thin and long cotton wick and carefully inserted it into the cartridge containing the juice (so that the juice flow is controlled) and keeping about a quarter of an inch long of the wick sticking out of the cartridge( so that it reaches that little cotton below set on the coil) now drip some juice on the coil before your push the cartridge onto it...and that's it....no more leaking since then, also like the flavor better..... hope it works for you too...
