Not sure what is happening pretty new to vaping but have been a huge long term smoker even smoked cigars like cigarettes no problem but as soon as I try to inhale on my LavaTube 2.5 with the nautilus. My throat tickles like no other and I cough for a good 2 minutes kind of counter productive :p the cape does taste a little muted as well not burnt but like I feel it should be a lot more tastier I am vaping unicorns milk.

Remember that first cigarette? I know I do and I coughed up a storm. Vaping is another transition your body has to get used to. I smoked full flavored cigarettes for years before I switched. When I finally did I, experienced the same thing you are now. You just need time to adjust. As far as flavor goes, you're taste buds will begin to get used to it. Vapers Tongue is a common thing when you first start. Could take days, to a few weeks to go away. It's better than tasting ash all day (Going back to getting used to it, remember how that first cigarette tasted vs when you're used to it ;)). Time is all you need, once your taste comes back...It'll be a beautiful thing.

Hey mate, sorry for the troubles. A few questions to help you better:

1. How long ago did you start vaping?
2. What is the PG/VG ratio, and nic content of the eliquid you're using.
3. What voltage/wattage are you using, and what ohm?
4. How much water are you drinking -- both while vaping and throughout the day.
5. Are you coughing and not feeling well besides the vaping.
6. Are you wearing pants?

#6 isn't really relevant, it's just that I'm not and it'd make me feel less alone.

hello, long time lurker here. first time posting! so a BIG HELLO to you all!

In regards to your coughing, try dropping the wattage all the way down and increasing the airflow to max. Start with that and gradually increase wattage until you start feeling that coughing sensation, when you find that drop it down 0.5 watts from there and change to the next smallest airhole. On a nautilus, if the juice is thin (higher PG) my guess you would end up with 6-8 watts (10 max), and middle airhole. Higher wattage = more power (needing more airflow), more airflow (dilution of vape concentration). So try and find that medium for yourself, if your sensitive you may need more airflow to thin out the vape a little bit as well as cutting some wattage. Maybe u should drop the nic. level too. go to a brick and mortar and try a 0% nic and see if that changes things.

I'll give it a try already went down to 12 from 20 I can't get too low or I'llgo insane

PANTS OFF PARTY! Ahem, anyhoo.....

I just started vaping, also, and I had a ruckus of a time coughing when I first began. For me, it was my coil with my tank...switched to single coils, and it worked much better. The coughing also got better after a week or so of vaping. But I don't know much, so really, I wouldn't listen to me, and just continue to not wear pants and seek the expert advice of THE FORUM.

I like to inhale though

As you first go off stinkies, your lungs can start to recover and coughing can come back for awhile while things get cleared up. However, you appear to be getting irritation from it, so a few tips:

1. If you are using an 80/20 mix, consider trying a 60/40 or even 50/50. A small change in the ratio can go a long way.

2. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Drink more than you think you need to.

3. Try lowering your voltage, if you're getting harshness at the end of your vape that could irritate things.

4. Try modifying your technique and do mouth-to-lung inhales. This helps cool the vapor more, and lets you find your lungs threshold while they get used to it and recover from your smoking. You draw the vapor into your mouth, then open up the back of your throat and inhale as much or as little as feels OK into your lungs.

Robino1 explains it way better than I do, but I don't think they will anymore since I kept asking them to explain it slower with more details over and over, so I'll point you here:

Kept reading about every one on Kayfun. So....I got a Kayfun V2...on my new Smok Rocket. (have to build 1.3 ohm or higher for Rocket). Smooth, and strong, no cough. Tomorrow's mail should have my new Kayfun V4 and Flip Mod from Code Vape. :D

Bought a 200watt kamry on pre order need to find a nice rebuildable tank or dripper. I heard drippers are better for coughers but not sure....

ALL OF THIS. As a new vaper, learning *how* to smoke was half the battle for me my first week. I hacked up a lung for awhile.

When i started I was at 24nic and 70pg30vg now I'm having a go at DIY liquids at 12 & 6 nic and 60vg40pg.

Now i find the 24nic and 70pg30vg - (still have many store bought bottles) much more scratchy on the throat.

Its said more pg and nic gives a better hit but since going to rebuildables and building to the resistance i want and sometimes using dual coil builds I get just as much hit at the lower levels minus the scratchy throat.
