Glad to hear that you'll be promptly seen by a doctor, and that you did not do it in an ER (unless you are wealthy, I suppose.) Docs can usually squeeze in cases like that on short notice, and there are usually other urgent care places that would not sock you for $2,000+, as an ER probably would. Everyone running straight to the ER when worried is just not realistic in today's health system. That may not be a popular opinion, but it's true for many.

Sounds like bronchitis, to me, but that's nothing more than a guess. I hope it turns out to be fine.

ER is the cheap way to run! If your admitted, needing put back together, or.... Let's just overlook the addicts! OK?!

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I am really sorry I didn't get a chance to get on here sooner.... it's been a crazy, crazy day. I did go to the ER last night, but after waiting for four hours and not being seen, I left. Called my doctor this morning and made an appointment to be seen tomorrow at 11:30. The nurse seemed to think it was something that needed to be looked at right away. Thanks so much for all of your concern and posts. I truly did not know whether I should go to the ER or not, because I have a tendency to blow things out of proportion when I'm sick. Thanks again to all and I will let you know what the doctor says. I swear, if this turns out to be an ulcer or something, I'm going to be really embarrassed.

Thanks for listening. :)

UPDATE:

Just got back from the doctor. Apparently it's probably nothing to worry about, since the doctor said 95% of the time when someone coughs up blood it's not a big deal. He does, however, think I have anemia, which could explain the pale skin, weakness and exhaustion. However he really had no explanation for the chest pains and said that I am no longer wheezing... he did order a chest x-ray just in case, which I will have done on Monday. Also did lots of bloodwork. So I should hear everything by Wednesday at the latest I'm hoping. Thanks again for all your support!!!!! :D

you should go to the ER.
We can't guess what that is. And that needs to be checked out before April 21st. "Coughing up blood" is an emergency room trip concern, not a wait a few weeks for a regular MD appointment concern. Not the answer you want, but the only one I can give.

When you scheduled this April 21st appointment did you make them aware of this? I can't believe they would have made you wait weeks to be seen if you told them this is what's going on.
