I've been trying to figure out the problem with the eGo-T atomizers, specifically the XL (Type B) ones. The first two I bought pretty well died within the first 3 days of use. They still worked, but upon removing the needle plate I found the wicks had been burnt down to little tufts peeking up just above the shelf -- barely reaching the atomizer. I had originally attributed this to just the atomizer burning too hot -- maybe the resistance is too low or something, I dunno.
But I just had another thought. The main liquid I was vaping at the time both had died was Toffle (Toffee-waffle) from Vape-Rite. Its flavouring uses an alcohol base that is quite prominent when vaping -- took me a bit to get used to it but I found I quite liked the warmth of the alcoholic hit. But alcohol burns quite readily and hotter than normal liquid. Could this be the culprit that's burning the wicks? Because I'm thinking maybe I should vape the Toffle in my regular eGo and use a non-alcoholic liquid in my tank. (I have a 50/50 PG/VG toffee flavour that's quite nice and contains no alcohol.)
Anyone have experience with this?
