I've been vaping mostly exclusively for the past couple of months but my gf still smokes. Every now and then, usually after a few beers, I have a craving I just can't beat and end up bumming a smoke. I'm am trying to find a way to kick these cravings without picking up a stinkie. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have noticed that if I have my dripper on hand a couple of puffs of 12 mg on that usually knocks it right out, but I rarely take it out of the house. I was thinking of maybe getting a small bottle of 18mg for these occasions, or possibly picking up a flavor that's wildly different from my usual vape tastes? Idk.

I actually started vaping just to slow down my smoking, but after finding NT juices, I stopped buying packs and just more juice. Now when I do bum a smoke I feel bad, so I'm looking for a full time quit strategy.

Yep, higher nic for cravings. If you must venture outside of NT for a 24mg juice or something, I suggest you do it - get a small bottle - for cravings only it should go a long way.

Or, REO it - since dripping 12 does the trick and you wouldn't have the hassle of dripping (which I'm guessing is why you leave your dripper at home)

+1 on the reo...I started at 12mg and 4 months later, 12mg in a dripper for me is excessive. I mostly use 6mg, but I have gotten Near-Zero and 6mg to cut my 12mg with to use in my drippers...It seemed like once I went to 6, 12 was just not happening...I remember the first time I hit 12mg out of a dripper I almost fell off my chair...

Good luck! You can do it! Just think of how much better tasting it would be to vape when you are thinking about stinking ;)

I kept a bottle of higher nic in a tobacco flavor for those cravings, especially when out drinking with my smoker friends. Plus 2 or more tanks of other flavors to keep switching it up and keep my mouth happy even when the evil voice on the back of my head was being demanding.

Good luck, you can do this :)

I'm actually saving up for a Reo, been out of work for a few months taking care of Old Pops. Thanks Sloth!

Much respect my friend. I went back down south (to TN, actually) for a few months to help my dad take care of my mom because she was really sick. It is an important thing I feel is somewhat rare in our culture--or at least not as pronounced as in some others--for kids to help care for their parents during old age. It got to a point where I wasn't of much help anymore, and she seemed to be doing a bit better, so my parents encouraged me to come back up. I finally did--and she passed away shortly after. I am very grateful thinking back to the time I spent with her, but I wish it had been more.

Ha! A couple of days ago, we were out on the porch having beers and I bummed a menthol. I took two puffs, put it out,and picked my Wakonda right back up. Unfortunately, it was still there when my growler was empty and I ended up finishing it.

Yeah, Pops is only 65 but he's taken very bad care of himself. He came down with an illness that nearly did him in back in January and spent several months in the hospital and then rehab learning how to walk again. I actually picked up vaping because of him,and got him vaping too. He's back on his feet now and has lessened his destructive habits, so I'm free to return to the workforce but still staying with him to keep an eye on him. It only seems right to take care of the ones who have taken care of and been there for us. At least that's how I was raised.

Nothing wrong with a smoke after a few beers

I disagree :) and not in a way to make someone feel bad for giving in, but, I think cigs are terrible for you, even one after a few beers is too much, much better to carry higher nic and vape it off if and when possible

then again I'm more against alcohol than I am tobacco, but...

Meh, I wouldn't sweat the small stuff. One step at a time. You've only been at it for a few months and you've managed to eliminate your smoking with the exception of a few moments of weakness during a *really* hard situation. Nothing to spit at there. Think of all those "normal" smokes that you have freed your body from.

I went through much the same thing. It took me two plus months to transition completely to vaping. You're still figuring out what works for you in different situations. I am going to add to the folks saying a good rebuildable atomizer system will probably knock that last problem OUT OF THE PARK. A REO with an RM2 atty is my first and foremost recommendation but any good atty/device combo will probably suffice.

You've already found a fantastic juice so now you just need to deliver it properly with a proper setup. It makes a WORLD of difference in those moments of weakness.

Keep at it, don't give up, one step at a time and the cigarettes will be a thing of the past. Research WTA if you have to go that route. At the end of the day, if you still give in on occasion and fire up a smoke, I'd still consider that a win if you have primarily transitioned over to vaping. Everyone is different and there is no ONE SOLUTION for everybody.

Good luck and God Speed on your journey!

I totally understand your plight. When I'm at home, I never smoke. But I have my good equipment, and my most tasty juice right there. When I go out, I never take my good hardware with me. Had too many things happen to want to bring it. Mostly due to leaking (and leaking equals wasting good juice!)
My "around town" gear is decent but it never quells the cravings I get and I always end up smoking. Still working on those issues, it's a baby step progression.
Good luck and hang in there!!

Thanks for all the support and advice guys!

I'd be that much closer to a Reo if cheesecake wasn't coming out next Tuesday. I carry my MVP and my VV on me at all times. It really amazes me that I smoked for almost 20 years considering how much I hate the taste and smell of those things, but a habit is a habit I guess. Especially with all those super addictive chemicals added. I don't necessarily beat myself up when I slip, but it sure is hard to get that taste out of my mouth. I've been vaping since April and really have come along way. I guess I'm just ready to take that last step to freedom, especially now that I'm back to work. The restaurant business is SUPER stressful and I just don't want to backslide.
