WTA helped me a GREAT deal, I used Aroma's which to me was much better/stronger than Mother's Milk. I have ordered some Umbavape and will be interested to see how it is. WTA e-liquids contain some of the alkaloids found in tobacco (but no tar or lighting up so they are still fairly safe in my opinion) and I used them quite a bit while switching to vaping. I find the after meal cigarette to be very difficult to manage. When my Umbavape gets here I will be interested to see how it performs against Aroma, although I don't use WTA nearly as much as I did, I still keep a tankful for very stressful situations and cravings. For the kiddo's trial (which is not happening now) I planned to bring that tank, for sure. It really helped me, but it doesn't help everyone, though it may be worth trying. Easier to STOP using it than stopping smoking, and when I do use it I don't find any kind of craving for more WTA liquid, so that might be worth a try.
I also use nic salts as I don't like a harsh throat hit (my throat was pretty torn up when I got here) and vape MTL, but I DIY with nic salts, but you can purchase them from many vendors as pre-mixed liquids, if you need to raise your nicotine some for after meals. With that said, chain-vaping through the cravings also works, and being willing to suffer that discomfort will help you manage future cravings (yes, I still get some in very stressful situations) so if you are happy with your vape, it may be a matter of time, patience, and just retraining your body/mind, but if this continues and you are really struggling, WTA and nic-salt juices may help you. I liked WTA as it still gave me some of that "cigarette" satisfaction while I was detoxing from tar, and then discontinuing the WTA was easier still. So, it's definitely something to keep in mind.
I dual used some while transitioning. I did not beat myself up over it, and that helped. I did vape both before and AFTER every cigarette to reinforce to myself that I was becoming a vaper. Sometimes vaping for a while did the trick, sometimes it didn't, but kind of naturally and organically, I was able to transition. For me that first cig felt like the hardest one, so it was actually the one that I eliminated first, but I did find as I detoxed that I would get a "chew through steel" feeling at around 3 p.m. and WTA liquid was oh so helpful for that.
So you have options, and most vapers will choose to just power through on regular freebase nicotine, or try something else as they transition. I think either is a valid choice.
Best of luck to you, and congrats on choosing to switch. One thing is for sure, it will get easier. I still have cravings occasionally at about 5 months-ish in (still my banner is lost! I will have to check my join date soon and retrieve it, LOL).
Good luck, I am wishing you all the best!
