Funny, I bought vaping supplies from the same two dealers for three years before branching out and trying some new ones. Maybe it's coincidence, but that's when I got hit. Apparently Sears.com is a popular place for crooks to try out numbers.

If the shippers wouldn't drop off packages at vacant houses it might shut down the credit card thieves. They have to have a way to receive their ill gotten gains. I guess it's hard to tell whether nobody's home or they house is unoccupied. They'd have to look in the windows.

I'm not trying to browbeat you thewrightstuff, but the more I checked into the VanillaVisa card the more negative it looked. This guy was given one for a retirement gift. It was supposed to be for $250 and was declined when he tried to use it. When he called the company they told him it was only loaded with $2.50. He hasn't gotten his money yet after multiple phone calls. I'm thinking that when his company bought it, they paid the $250 + startup fees and the clerk keyed it in for $2.50.

I dont consider it a browbeat in the least, DaveP, its all good.

I went to Walgreens by me, had them load up 55 bucks on it, paid the 4.95 fee, spent all but 18 cents on it at MBV, and that was it. For me, it worked perfectly. Didn't have to register it, besides adding my zip code online to the card for purchasing purposes, and disposed of it. I considered the 4.95 one time fee as a payment for shipping, since I got free shipping with over 50 bucks at baker.

After looking at the Vanila Visa web site, I was in a Dollar General looking and comparing debit cards. There was a "MyVanilla" Visa card there that didn't charge a monthly fee, just a $4.95 charge at the cash register when you bought it and a load fee when you put money on it ... no monthly service charge. That seems fair. Is that the one you have?
