Damn, looks like I got hit now, too :( Apparently my bank has been denying fraudulent charges since monday, none of which showed on my transaction history, and they froze my debit card yesterday afternoon. It's been four days things have been going on that they knew about and not one word from my bank that anything was amiss, even though I stopped in there this afternoon to ask about why I had a transaction denied last night . . . they told me there wasn't anything wrong with my card. Still wouldn't work today so I called customer service, sat on hold for 10 minutes and was given another number to call, sat on hold for another 10 minutes and got the whole story, none of which I was told earlier today when I was physically at the bank asking what was going on  On top of that they won't issue me a new card or let me dispute the one transaction that did get through over the phone, I actually have to go back to the bank again tomorrow and do it in person
I'm glad they didn't allow most of the fraudulent transactions, but it would have been nice to get a heads-up. After the way they handled this mess I'll definitely be finding a new bank . . .

ETA - my rant is just because I was frustrated and had to rant. I don't hold AVE responsible for the situation in any way and will continue to do business with them :) Resolved my issues with the bank this morning, went a lot easier than expected . . . but I still plan to find a new bank soon, 'cos 4 days of not telling me something was wrong is unexcusable IMO

I've had a ticket open for 9 days with no response on the issue. And as it turns out, my bank has decided to close my account due to unsafe spending practices because I used my card for online purchases and my info was stolen. They said I was "high risk" and apparently my business isn't worth the trouble. I've never had my card info stolen in my life and now suddenly I'm "high risk"? ......Woodforest can suck it. Which reminds me, anyone know any good banks?

You're better off with a credit union if you can swing it. Not only do they usually have fewer/lower fees and higher quality products, but they tend to take care of you as a person rather than an account. Most are also members of a surcharge free ATM network so you don't have to worry about accessing a non branded ATM terminal as long as it's in the network; 30,000+ for the largest compared to the largest bank network at less than 20,000.

Whoever you go with, ask if you can open a small secondary account with a card and then transfer just what you plan on spending into that.

Not a bad idea, someone else mentioned a credit union as well and I'd love to have an account with a card that I could easily transfer money to from my main account for purchases that might be deemed unsafe. That would sure beat the hassle of loading a prepaid card all the time. Especially since I'm a bit impulsive on my vape purchases. I tend to buy more than I planned to because so many juices sound good lol.

I also had to cancel my card on Friday morning (4/19). It's coincidence that I came on here tonight and read this, it's been awhile since I've checked in. I only came here after seeing the message on the site that ave was closed. I had a charge to some UK dating/escort service, which my bank declined, a $10.00 egift card, which my bank refunded, and a $1 charge from some random website.
