I am going on a cruise next Saturday. I spoke to my cruise agent over the phone and smoking is allowed. I bought tons of cartos and liquids and batteries. I am going to share them with smokers along with business cards from certain vendors I buy from. I want to share th ECF with them but I dont have business cards for the ECF. that is if they even exist. How do I approach smokers and get them to switch what do I say?

In the "old" days smoking was allowed all over a cruise ship; in your cabin, in the theatre, even in the dining room. Those days ended long ago and now there are some cruise ships that dont allow smoking at all. Some other cruise lines allow smoking in a few outside areas or on your own balcony. Use to be you could smoke in the casino, now there are select nights when the casino is non-smoking and on some ships not allowed at all.

A lot of "cruisers" are switching over to the e-cig, I am one of them. I made the switch and after 40 years of smoking it was the best thing I have done in a long time! For me the change happened instantly, as soon as I took my first drag of my e-cig. I never intended it to happen, in fact figured I would hate the e-cig .. but dang it, what a surprise that it was GREAT. From that moment on I have been ihaving an affair .. with my e-cig, .. love it.

There are lots of cruise ship passengers who are smokers and so many of them would love to learn about the e-cig, not only will it improve their health but it will also make their cruise travels so much more enjoyable.

I hope other "cruisers" find this thread and make the switch I made.

I think I wrote this in the wrong place. I am going on a cruise Nest Saturday. Smoking is allowed. Infact there are llike 10 indoor designated areas. I want to spread the word. I bought tons of batteries, cartomizers and fluids + business cards from those vendors. I want to approach the smoking passangers properly, if one could istruct me on how to do this it would help greatly. Also, how can I get the ECF business cards and if they exist would I be able to get them b4 I depart? I am going to share all that I bought and I spent a lot. I really feel strongly for the ecig movement and I am willing to take a loss for it. But I need to know what to say and if a question is asked, I need to know the proper answer. If you think you can help PM me or email me at cartomeister@gmail.com or you can find me on aim as Cartomeister. Thanks.I leave the 28th on a 7 day trip to the caribbean.

Personally, were I you, I'd let them approach you rather than you approach them. I can say honestly that if someone approached me out of the blue with one of these PVs, I'd think they were nuts and/or one of those anti-smoker hating folks. I think you'll find that some folks are interested enough to ask you and then you can tell them about it.

Business cars are somewhere in the forum. Can't recall where I saw them. Just do a search for 'ecf business cards' with quotes around it.

I agree with Satharra .. I wouldnt approach anyone either, I'd hope they would be curious and come up and ask me, I'll love explaining it to non-smokers and to smokers as well.

We are leaving for 2 back-to-back cruises in Europe .. in fact we leave for the airport in 2 hrs and I'm not finished packing yet. We'll be on the Vision of the Seas for 2 weeks and I'll be vaping and vaping .. I'm a vaping addict LOL.

Here you go: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-merchandise/113637-free-ecf-business-cards.html

As for approaching people, you never know. It's probably true that you'll have better luck with people who approach you, because they are motivated in some way. But there are also many people that might want to approach you but are too shy or something.

I have approached people before, and I generally just walk up to them and ask them if they have ever heard of electronic cigarettes. How I handle it after that pretty much depends on how they react to the question. But very often I find that people were already curious about what I was doing if they had seen me using one, or had heard of electronic cigarettes and were curious about them.

Haven't seen any posts on this one for a bit so thought I'd check in. I know Stash is out of town but I think we had a few others new to vaping.

How are you all doing? Don't keep us in the dark!

Vaping and loving it! Got my KR808D-1 from V4L at 3:00 pm on 13 Aug and haven't had an analog since. I've been going crazy buying and sampling juice from various vendors. I've discovered that juice "sales" are dangerous to the wallet!;)

I've got a 3-nt cruise on Disney Wonder next week and I'm really looking forward to vaping in my stateroom and vaping on my balcony without potentially irritating non-smoking neighbors. My greatest concern is packing enough e-cig stuff to keep me vaping while on-board. I'll take 4 batts, a PT, some filled cartos and a couple of bottles of juice with some blank cartos. Hopefully, that will tide me over. It's a kinda learning experience to get ready for some longer cruises and knowing what to bring along on the longer ones.

Thanks to all here for introducing me to e-cigs and helping me finally get off cigarettes! :toast:

Hi, Still here & vaping! Haven't quite given up analogs but they are few & far between. Am looking for a winter cruise, either Voyager or Freedom OTS, kind of fun vaping & pricing cruises! Good for all of you who have completely given up their analogs; I promise, I'll be there soon. Just got my VISA bill, haven't gotten the nerve to open it to see how much I've spent on flavors:ohmy:; although it'll be all to the good.

Well, my experience last week tells me that I overpacked the juice. Evidently when I'm sitting around at home or work, I vape a lot more than when I'm out and about. I ended up taking around 30ml for 7 days since I figured I'd share some with folks. I came back with around 20ml although I had sent an order directly to my location. Looking at what I did with that, it appears that I only used about 5ml total of the order. So I'd guess I only used around 15ml in 7 days. I did end up using all my batteries though because other folks wanted to try them out.

Also, for some odd reason, I took around 20 cartos with about 10 of them filled. I came back with 8 filled cartos. Yeah, I don't know why I thought I'd need that much either.

So, for 3 days, I'd probably take 10-15ml depending on if I was going to be drinking. (I vape pretty constantly when I drink.) If you pretty much stick to 1-2 flavors, then 4 ought to be enough. I'd definitely take an extra carto just in case one stops working. Doubt I'd take the PT personally but that's just me.

Good to hear, Carol! I've been cigarette free for right at 2 1/2 weeks now. I still get cravings but I vape through them. I did end up trying one of my husband's about 1 1/2 weeks ago and it really tasted bad to me. Plus I couldn't get the smell off my breath, out of my nose, washed off my face, or out of my hair for a day. That was truly annoying. I, too, worked my way down like you did. It just took me some time since the e-cig didn't quite make me want to avoid all cigarettes.

So, everytime I think I want a cigarette I think about how bad it smelled and tasted after I smoked one. Sure, they smell great when someone else is smoking them but man do they taste bad an hour or so after you do it. I think, psychologically, that is helping as much as the nic in my PV.

On our last cruise DW and I went through ~10ml each. So much to do onboard that we didn't vape anywhere nearly as often as we do at home.

I've got the feeling I'd be a tad different in that regards. Our cruises consist of sitting on the balcony watching the waves go by, napping, sitting on the promenade reading (me) or drinking (husband), more napping, wandering the decks, and more napping. Sometimes we catch a show or two but more than likely you'll find us listening to the live music. Oh, and we do a lot of eating too.

We're the odd ones that avoid the Lido deck. Too much noise and sun. All I do is burn when exposed to sun and my sunburns do not equal a fun time for my husband. ;)

Thanks for the info, Satharra! I think 15ml sounds about right plus a bit extra for the night before and the trip home. I blow through about 2-3ml a day at home and expect to use a bit more aboard ship. I tend to sit and people watch onboard and will REALLY enjoy that while vaping merrily along. You're probably right that the PT might be overkill - I just wanted to have vaping power if all the batts went bad, at least I could plug in and vape in the stateroom. I also plan to take a wall charger for the batts.

I hear you loud and clear on that! It's going to be a long time before I break even monetarily, but that wasn't the driving factor for me to switch to e-cigs. If I spend the same or more on e-cigs it's an investment in my health, and enjoyment of a new "hobby". I've got to spend more time away from ECF...the juice "sale" notices in the supplier's forum threads are taking a toll! ;)

Jackie,
I was poking around CC and ran into a thread on the E-Cig. I read a few of the posts and went to cig-not ordered my 510 and here I am 8 days of the analogs. If you were part of that thread thanks for the info. Its changed my life so far. I was off the analogs for 2.5 years 2 years ago and had a trama that made me start again. Now .... I think I have solved that problem. a few hauls of my 510 seems to solve those little urges. Thanks again
I hope other "cruisers" find this thread and make the switch I made.

Jackie was the OP of that thread, I believe. She just goes under a different name here. I'll have to say, I inadvertently happened onto the e-cig thread while I was looking for more info on the Radiance of the Seas. Somehow I ended up over here and the rest is history!

Sadly, it looks as if the cruise I was researching may be on the back burner but what a story to tell. Planning a cruise vacation may have prolonged my life.

PS By the way, Jackie is out on a 2 week cruise I believe. She should be back and actively posting next week.

bobm: Congrats on the no smoking! Stay safe the next few days; hope Earl doesn't hurt you all! This is coming from a person who lives very near the Gulf Of Mexico coast & has gone thru several hurricanes the last 5 yrs.

Satharra: you sound like DH & me. We sit on our balcony alot reading, smoking (not next time tho!!! as we'll be vaping!!!), & then eat & try out the casino (see above in parenthesis). Cruising has become a real vacation for us!

Yeah, we cruise to relax and boy is it relaxing. We've been on several other vacations but never quite get relaxed. Probably because we end up having to drive from here to there or because I keep us on the go all the time or maybe because our hotel room is often not right next to the main attractions.

A cruise ship gives us all the attractions in the same spot. For some odd reason, I feel like I have more of a choice to see or not see things. The only days when we return back to the ship truly worn out are the ones where we go off on active excursions. Thankfully, I have some sense and don't book all those together at once. One day active, one day vegging, one day active, one day vegging, etc.

I started off on Cruise Critic reading about these and have moved over here to continue. Got my KR808D-1 a few days ago and so far so good. I can see this is going to be interesting because I'm already finding myself searching all over for different colored batteries, etc. I've tried these before (the type you buy at the mall) and thought they were horrid. There is such a difference in this one!
