I have to say the Butter Rum T.V. from Tasty vapor is awesome! I got it in all PG so I could stealth vape at work. Only weird thing was people kept asking me if I was using incense. Since my smell is just starting to come back it's hard to detect but from what non-smoking friends have told me it smells great. ;) It does have a hint of rum after taste from my perspective.

The butter rum is on sale now at Tasty Vapor, it's one of the FOTW for this coming week. I ordered it, along with caramel popcorn, dulce de leche and cherry cola (those 3 werent on sale but I want em LOL). This past week I ordered the Waffle and it will be arriving today, woohoo, cant wait!!! I always order the nic juice at 48mg with 10% vg and then in the doublers I order 20%vg, then I mix them 50/50 to end up with 24mg. I dont like tons of VG because I do a LOT of stealth vaping and so I dont want tons of vapor, but the combo I use gives me a nice amount of vapor that I can easily control when I am "stealthing" :) Thanks for all the suggestions about the butter rum and the dulce de leche, looking forward to getting them next week.

The usb charger was my Ipod usb charger .. that's the one I used to charge my PCC .. worked fantastic! In fact everything I brought worked fantastic and I was fully charged and vaping like crazy for the whole 2 weeks. Other than vaping in the cabin, I think the most fun part was vaping on all of the airline flights .. teehee. We had a 10 hour flight from Houston to Frankfort .. when I've done that flight in the past I go nuts without being able to smoke. This time there was no craving at all, because I stealth vaped every few mins the whole time. Even topped off my carto repeatedly, right in my seat. In Frankfort we transferred to another flight, to Copenhagen, and had to go thru a thorough security screening in Frankfort. I had my PV around my neck in a lanyard, and in my tote there was my PCC, tons of cartos, 6 batteries and at least 15 bottles of liquids. No problemo, I went right thru. Same thing in Copenhagen, on our return flight, same thing in Heathrow (they can often be the toughest), same thing in Chicago on our transfer to Houston.

I did have one problem though .. and that was the cartos that I had pre-filled at home before the first flight. I ended up having to mess around with each of those cartos once we got to our hotel before the cruise. I dont know if it was the cabin pressure of the flight to Frankfort, or the length of the flight being 10 hrs, but every carto that I had pre-filled just wouldnt vape properly. Some of the cartos were brand new, with a fresh fill in it and I ended up having to drain some of them and refill them, and others I had to actually throw out and start over with a brand new carto and a brand new fill (glad I brought so much liquid with me). Once I was on land and did all of that refilling etc, from then on for the next 2 weeks of the cruise, everything was as perfect as it always is .. so I am wondering if something happened to my cartos because of that first long flight. Anyone have any thoughts about that?

That's really odd that you had that happen. I recently flew with my cartos - some prefilled and others not - but didn't encounter that issue but my flight was only 4 hours versus your 10. Did you carry them on with you or have them checked?

Would be good to know should I take a flight that lasts that long.

Didnt happen on any of the shorter flights .. happened on the 10 hour flight to Frankfort .. then did happen again on the way home when we had a 9 hour flight from Heathrow to Chicago. We leave on another cruise in a few weeks but that one is just a flight from Houston to Boston .. it will be interesting to see if it happens but I seriously doubt it will .. I think it was someothing to do with either the altitude or the length of the 2 long transatlantic flights that did it.

For instance, when the cruise was over I had all the cartos working perfectly, got off the ship and then flew from Copenhagen to London .. a 2 hour flight. Landed in Heathrow and vaped like crazy during the 2 hr layover .. tried several different cartos, they were all perfect. But then we flew from Heathrow to Chicago, 9 hr flight, landed in Chicago where we had a 2 hr layover in Chicago and started vaping in the Presidents Club .. nope, the cartos were messed up and the only way I could vape was to top the heck off of a carto and then even had to get a taryn spin to get it flowing right and had to top if off some more.

Strange huh?

And no, I didnt put any of my vaping equipment into my checked luggage, had it all in my carryon for every flight .. didnt want to risk some luggage handler saying "oh here's a nice bunch of ecig stuff I've been wanting to try" .. LOL (morale of the story is I dont trust luggage dudes).

Heh, I never trust luggage or TSA folks either. Have had a few things go missing in checked baggage even with a TSA lock on it. Evidently I need to get a TSA lock that shows when it gets opened.

Did you give the cartos a good shake before you vaped them? I have to do this sometimes with certain liquids. I've actually gotten in the habit of doing it with all of them now. I just give them a few good thermometer type shakes before I use them.

ha! I shook em, I rolled em, I did everything short of having s-e-x with em and they were still all messed up. I use V4L's cool cartos .. love em. But had also brought a lot of brand new empty V4L ones and also some regular new empty cartos from vaporsetc and from GP .. so I ended up doing a reverse taryn spin, emptied out the bad cartos and put the juice into brand new cartos. Pain in the .... to do in a hotel room when your husband is saying hurry-up so we can go sightseeing LOL. Good thing I had brought so much extra stuff with me, had it not been for all the empty new cartos I had brought, along with all the extra liquids I would have been sunk before the ship even sailed. We're doing the same flight from Houston to Frankfort again in 8 weeks (and then Frankfort to Barcelona), but this time I am not going to pre-fill ANY cartos except the 1 or 2 I'll use on the flights themselves. We're staying in Barcelona for 4 days before that cruise so I'll have plenty of time to fill up empty cartos in the hotel after the cartos are back at "sea level" .. learned my lesson on this last trip.

A few (totally unscientific) thoughts about those long flights:

1) you fly at a much higher altitude than on shorter flights, and
2) the air is significantly drier at altitude, and
3) cabin pressure is higher at altitude, and
4) you're at pressure in bone dry air for a much longer interval

If the cartos are relatively sealed (condoms on both ends), they may noticeably contract or appear to collapse in flight - highly likely at those pressures and if this happened it probably pushed the juice all over the place. Did the carts seem like they had leaked (or were over filled) when you took them out after the flight? They may have flooded under pressure, or

The juice is a combo of glycerine and water, and the water may have evaporated in the dry air. - thicker juice = clogged carts, or

a combo of both.

ah ha .. what you said makes sense .. because the flight was so long it totally dried out the water part of my liquids! I didnt have any problem with my cartos at the beginning of the flight, it wasnt until we had been in the air about 5 hrs or so that the problem started .. and from that point on it was bad news. I'd vape and get hardly anything out, so I would switch to another carto .. same thing. So then, in desperation, what I started to do was top off a few drops, then vape .. and I could get 3-4 decent vapes .. and then it would happen again .. almost as if nothing was in the carto. And yes I had filled them totally before I left home. There was, however, no leakage going on at all and I did have condoms on both ends of all of them.

So glad you answered my post because I think you figured it out .. the water evaporated from them. Once we landed and I was in the hotel I finally ended up filling brand new empty cartos and then everything was great .. but I never could reuse any of the ones that I had vaped during the flight .. they were nasty tasting and had a burnt taste. I even tried washing them out in hot water once I was on the ship .. dried them on our balcony for 2-3 days .. refilled the first one and it was yuck. So at that point I realized they any of the ones I had actually vaped during the flight were all bad news. The ones I hadnt vaped during the flight were OK although I had to add more juice to those. Lucky for me I had brought 15 brand new blank empty cartos on the trip .. in addition to the 15 or so that I had pre-filled at home .. so once I got on the ship I filled up some of the blank empoty ones and all was great in the world again.

However, same thing happened on the way back to the USA, with any of the cartos I had pre-filled before getting on the flight from Heathrow to Chicago (a 9 hr flight). It didnt happen on the flight from Copenhagen to Heathrow .. but that was only a 2 hour flight .. it happened again on the longer 9 hr flight.

So lesson learned, I am not pre-filling any cartos if I have a really long flight, other than the one carto that I'll have with me to stealth vape on the plane, which I'll top off if the flight is longer than 3-4 hrs. We have lots of long flights coming up .. to Frankfort again in 8 weeks, to Chile, to Brazil, to Barcelona, to Rome. Thank you for figuring out about the water evaporation thing .. makes perfect sense now that you said it .. never dawned on me, duh. Thanks!!!!

Sorry but depends on flight path, flight levels are not dictated by lengths of the flight. Been on a 40 minute hopper at 40K and then SFO>HKG at 37K.

Having said that, all flights will dry out anything that needs humidity, so a longer flight will significantly dry things out.

A moderator moved this thread and Elendril fixed it for us, once before and put it back in the New Members and Elendril said he would notify the other moderatores not to move it out of the new members section. I think we need help from Elendril again. That was back on July 30 but since we ("me") have been talking about air plane flights over the past few days another moderator may have decided to move us into the travel section without realizing we need to stay in New Members for the new e-cig people from cruise critic to be able to come for help..

Hopefully Elendril will see this thread, if not maybe we can send him a PM.

OK I sent him a PM, he said no. He said he left it in New Members for 45 days and that he is the one who moved it to the Travel forum tonight because he feels it's more appropriate there and in order to keep the forum organized. He said he has put a "redirect" for the thread in the New Members forum and will leave that there for the next 30 days.

Too bad, being in the beginners area it gave everyone the ability to post immediately with questions, etc. But I would imagine the majority would be like me and just come and read before "pulling the trigger" so to speak and posting or making their first purchase.

But maybe it would be a good idea to post again on the thread in Cruise Critic to get that one moving again? Last posting was September 3.

Hi Bobbye .. you and I just both posted at cruise critic within 60 seconds of each other .. tooooo funny! It's a shame though, because the new people who come from cruise critic wont be able to ask us any questions now that our thread has been moved from the new members section. I do hang out in the new members forum a lot, but unless there's some way of them identifying themselves we wont know who they are. I doubt they'll even be able to find us in the travel section since so many of them are not very "forum savvy". sigh sigh :(

Stash,
Maybe you can go back to the very first post in this thread, and make an edit for all the new people that if they have any questions, to go to the Newbie section. So many experienced veterans read and post there to help the newbie all the time. They will definitely be taken care of! Read as much of THIS thread as they want, but post in the newbie thread until they get their count up. If they have a question just for you and they don't want to post in the newbie section, they can send you a pm.
Just a thought.
BTW, I am a frequent cruiser myself and am also a member of CC. Mostly just a lurker there. Usually only post in the Roll Call threads..........Will be heading out of Tampa on Carnival's Legend Nov. 28. Never been on Carnival, so it will be a whole new experience for me. I am a Princess Elite girl........:)
I know Carnival is not in the same class as Princess, and that Carnival bought Princess so I'm not sure why I am wanting to go this route, but I wanted to try something other than Princess since I feel their service has been in the decline in the last few years. (Right about the time Carnival purchased them )And, well, Carnival was offering a good price when I booked that I couldn't turn them down! And I will be driving from coastal NC and Tampa is SO MUCH closer than Ft. Lauderdale!!!

Anyway, back on e-cig topic-----just wanted to throw in my :2c: over your concerns for the new folks coming over from CC.

Happy Vaping!

Hi justincase! I was a Princess Elite girl too .. had 30 Princess cruises .. but then we tried Royal Caribbean and we never looked back, now we have over 50 cruises with Royal Caribbean .. go figure. We use to love Princess but then things started changing. It was hard for us to leave Princess because they really gave us fantastic perks for having had so many cruises with them. But as things declined there we became more and more unhappy. When we tried our first Royal Caribbean cruise we loved it so much, but we knew we'd have to start at the bottom and work our way up to gain anything close to the perks we already had at Princess. Nonetheless we bite the bullet and made the change and cant tell you how happy we've been since doing that.

I cant go edit a post that is as old as the first one here, there's a time limit on how long you can go back and do an edit to a post. Also I think I should have been posting more often at cruise critic and giving directions on how to get to ECF but have been out of the country and pretty much out of touch for nearly 3 weeks. So many cruisers have made the switch to ecigs because of those first posts on cruise critic back 2 months ago, and even more have continued to switch to the ecig but I think some of them are shy to post in a new message board other than at cruise critic, heck I know I was LOL.

Domestic flights are usually in the 30,000-35,000 ft range, unless the pilot is dodging weather or turbulence. The only time I've ever been up to 40,000 was in the back seat of an AF trainer - not at all fun. There's a big difference in air quality between 5 miles up and 7 miles up.

Yep, been on 9 Princess cruises, last one was Emerald Med cruise about 2 years ago. Have not been on another since they got tough with carry-on wine.
They used to let me check in cases of wine, I hear its a little tougher now.
