i always vape on planes. if you're not obnoxious and obvious abut it, no one ever objects. i flew delta on sunday and took one puff abut every 15 minutes just sitting in my seat. we were delayed on the tarmack an extra 2 hrs. i was in the middle seat. my husband was by the window with another passenger in the aisle seat. no problems at all. i held the vapor in for a long time, so there was very little when i exhaled. made the trip so much easier.

Good for you Bonsat, I havent done any "stealth vaping" yet, but we have a lot of very long flights to and from Europe coming up, starting in 3 weeks. I giggled at the thought of you vaping while sitting in the middle seat next to a stranger, you didnt actually do it with your PV out in the open did you? How'd you conceal it? Would love to hear about it.

my next cruise scheduled for Nov. Hope this work for me

Hi rrrentman, which kit did you order? I'm sitting here vaping on Hazelnut Mocha and drinking my coffee .. sure tastes great! The first 7 days that I was vaping I only used tobacco flavor, I thought that was all I would ever want and couldnt understand when I'd read about people doing flavors like strawberry, or apple pie. I kept thinking "huh? I want it to taste just like my marlboro's tasted". Next thing I knew, I found myself wanting to try some of the flavors, and yikes, it opened up a whole new experience and now I rarely use my tobacco flavor, doesnt taste as good to me anymore.

jackie, the exact same thing happened to me. i would only use tobacco flavor the first 2 months with a bit of menthol (crystals) added. after a while, the tobacco flavor tasted horrible to me. so i kept the menthol and started using fruit and spice flavorings. don't like the way they make chocolate and coffee flavors even though these are my favorite foods and my favorite ice cream flavors. now i like berries and apples and mint and cinnamon the best.

can anyone recommend a good coffee flavor?

my ecig is black and looks a lot like a pen. i held it clenched in my fist (i have very small hand) pressed the button with my thumb and made sure the led light was blocked. i avoided taking it out when the flight attendants walked by. no one in front of me ever turned around and our young seatmate never mentioned it. it is non-offensive. very little odor if any. some people will say that they sell cherry or cinnamon and say that they like the odor. i also smoked very openly at the airport. i avoided bathrooms in case the smoke alarm was sensitive. it was great!

I have always planned to vape on our flights to Copenhagen in 3 weeks. We have a 10 hour flight to Germany, then a 5 hour layover there, then another flight from there to Copenhagen.

Here is the plan I was going to do .. I always bring my own little blanket for my flights, I cant stand the thought of using one of the airline blankets cuz who knows what is on those blankets. I am always cold .. so I planned to just pull the edge of the blanket up to my face and vape that way. We arent on any flights where there will be more than just the 2 of us in a row .. we arent in any 3-seat rows. But gosh, I am impressed with you Bonnie, sounds like you just openly did it!

I have been a member of CC for about 4 years now . On our last two cruises I vaped all over both Carnival ships we were on. The only place I didn't try was in the Main Dinning Room .
Tim.:vapor::vapor:

Hi Tim, you are an inspiration! I have a ton of cruises coming up, in fact will be on a cruise every 4-6 weeks on average. I was only planning to smoke inside my cabin, on my balcony and in the allowed smoking areas. On RCI we arent allowed to smoke inside the cabins but even when we could I never did because I hated all of that smoke being trapped in my cabin so much, so always just went on our balcony. How did the passengers react? How about the crew? You did it EVERYWHERE except the MDR .. wow!

i too have vaped everywhere on both a HAL and a celebrity cruise. i used my ecig in my room, on my balcony, at the pool, in the nightclub, in the lounges, in the casino, in hallways, in lobbies, in shops--everywhere except the mdr and the elevators, and the smoking sections. now you know how picky the pax are on holland and especially on X since they tightened up the no smoking rules. never, never had a problem. and i was really blatant about it. relax and enjoy your cruises. you don't have to make any sacrifices.

Thanks, Jackie. I found you - I am one of the lurkers from the CC forum.:)

And, also, thanks to you, I just ordered the KR808D-1 starter kit. If I may ask you a couple of questions?

1) the kit comes with 5 pre-filled cartomizers, correct? I did ask them for 24mg instead of the 16mgs, btw. So, how long should these 5 cartomizers last me? Presently I am a 3/4-pack a day smoker.

2) Can I continue to order pre-filled cartomizers from the same site in the future? Or will I need to get blank ones and just order the fluid and fill them up myself? I'm not too concerned about cost - just want the easiest and most convenient way for myself!

Thanks, again. I think you're doing God's work here.

Hi Roxanne, great questions, in fact the exact same questions I myself had before I got started. Glad you are getting the 24mg, you can cut back to a lower mg later but if your first drags had been toooooo low then you would have possibly said "hey this ecig doesnt work".

How long will a pre-filled carto (that's the short way to say cartomizer .. the short word for a cartridge is cart) last? Well that depends. In my case it didnt last long .. hahaha, cuz I was fascinated by it and just kept doing it and doing it! My first carto lasted about 1 1/2 hrs and I was a pack a day (PAD) smoker. But my sister's first carto lasted her for 5 hrs, because she wasnt a vaping-pig like I was LOL.

Yes you can still keep buying the carto's prefilled .. however .. why do that? A pre-filled carto costs about $1. I use 4 cartos a day, my sister uses 1 1/2 a day. A carto is a "disposable" thing, but dont throw them out after just 1 use, they are refillable. You can easily learn how to refill a carto in less than 60 seconds .. and you can refill it for pennies.

If you refill your own carto's then you are deciding what goes in it, not a supplier. So, you can then try different flavors of juices, find ones you like .. and have lots of choices .. for very little expense and very little effort.

After you've refilled the same carto for 5 or 6 times, it is a good idea to clean them out ... you can "wash" them out. The reason this needs to be done is because in the carto is an "atomizer" (we call those an atty, for short). The atty heats up and gets hot, from the battery. The liquid in the carto starts getting gunked up on the atty, so it needs to get cleaned out otherwise you will start to get a nasty taste, such as a burnt taste or a chemical sort of taste.

There are as many diferent ways to wash a carto as there are different cruise ships .. hahaha. You can read about many different methods here at the ECF forum.

The way I personally clean out my cartos is this: on the mouth end of your carto is a plastic round piece, remove it by sticking the end of a paper clip, or a nail, into that hole and the mouthpiece will come right off. Then look inside and you will see another little plastic round piece, also remove that. Set both of those aside but save them, you will be reusing them later.

Now you are ready to wash your carto out. What I do is first "blow the carto out", to get any remaining juice out of it. To blow a carto out all you do is remove it from the battery first, then blow hard short bursts thru your mouth into the mouthpiece end of your carto. The liquid will come out of the bottom, which is the battery end of the carto.

Be sure to have a paper towel right underneath the battery end .. otherwise the juice is going to spray all over the place.

When no more liquid is coming out then get some hot water .. it can be boiling water from the stove, or just very hot tap water .. put the water in a bowl or pot and put the dirty cartos into the hot water and squish them around, leave them for 10-15 mins, swish them some more .. blow them out several times to get all the water out and when no more water comes out put them on their side to dry out for 24-48 hrs. Presto, clean cartos good as new. I usually collect my dirty cartos until I have 8-10 or so and then clean them out all at once.

i use a 3-piece ecig. at first, like you, i washed everything and cleaned out the atty. then i discovered it doesn't make a bit of difference. as long as your batting wick is not stuck anywhere, the ecig cleans itself. i change the batting once a month or when i decide to try a new flavor of juice. i change the cart when i feel it is not tight in the atty.

also, we keep a bottle of vegetable glycerine (vg) in the fridge. if our juice is too strong (either the amount of nicotine or the juice flavor), we dilute it with a little vg and it is perfect. my daughter and i purposely buy high nic juice and water it down with the vg. a bottle of 24mg. juice goes twice as far and costs half as much. we also buy little bottles of flavor from a manufacturer called lorann's and create our own juice. costs us about a couple of cents for a cart fill which can last for hours. i have saved between $1500 and $2000 this year. not to mention i feel healthy, smell good and get invited to other people's homes.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jackie.

Okay, I think I'm starting to get a handle on this. Your explanation was very thorough! What I should now be looking to buy are blank cartos and whatever flavored juices I want. So, how does one get the cartos filled? A syringe? And, do they sell syringes on the vaposetc site? Any other equipment you think I'll need? A spare battery or charger, maybe?

I want to make sure I am fully stocked with everything I need, because I am looking to get off analogs all together (see, I'm learning fast - analogs are real cigarettes, right?;)).

Inquiring minds want to know .... I'm so excited about this!

My Starter Kit Has Arrived!

I opened it up, read all of the directions, screwed the small cartridge thingie (I think) on to the Cigarette Like Thingie and took a puff!

I really had to suck on it but I got some flavor and the read light on the end of the Cigarette Like Thingie lit up but I didn't notice any vapor.

It then occurred to me that maybe I should charge it up. The directions said initial charge for 8 hours.

So I unscrewed the small cartridge thingie and stuck the Cigarette Like Thingie into the hole in the charger and it clicked as it went in.

So I plugged in the charger and it is merrily charging away with the little green LED nicely lit.

Now What?

Will the green LED on the charger go out when it is charged?

I experimented a bit with inserting and removing the Cigarette Like Thingie from the charger and learned that if I screw it in I get three Red Blinks from the LED on the end of the Cigarette Like Thingie. What Does This Mean.

Is having to suck really hard on these things normal?
