Great Jim .. your kit arrived. When you screw the battery into the charger then yes, you get a few quick light blinks then nothing on the battery. Now look on the charger that is plugged into the socket, when that turns green it is charged .. if it is red is is "charging".

Do you have pre-filled cartos? If so, screw one into a battery. Now, here comes a trick ... put the ecig in your mouth, push the button but WAIT 1 second, and THEN draw in sloooowly and steady and count 1-2-3 .. hold it in your mouth for 1 second and THEN inhale.

Why do you do all of that? Because the atomizer needs to first warm up a little, that is why you push and hold the button for 1 second, to let it get going before you start to draw on it.

Do not inhale immediately like you would a real cigarette .. you draw in for 1-3 seconds, slow and steady .. hold it in your mouth for 1 second and THEN inhale.

Try that.

I ordered the "automatic" version, there is no button to push.

The light on the charger is a steady green!

When you put it all together for the first time, prop it up more or less vertical (cart end up) for ~10 minutes. No telling how long the parts were in inventory before they shipped it to you, and the atty may be dry. 10 minutes is usually enough time to re-prime it.

Since you got the auto model, you can also try taking a quick hard puff, to warm the atty and then a long slow drag.

I tried it again and it still seems to not be working. No Flavor! No Vapor!

So I tried another cartridge from the sealed 5-Pack with the same negative results.

So I took it apart and put it back into the charger and this time I screwed it in a bit tighter. I got the 3 red blinks from the tip but the charger light is now red!

So I guess I am in the initial 8 hour charging mode.

Dinner tonight with my Brother and Mom and I will try it again later after it charges awhile.

Anyone here on Face-Book? I am Jim Massfeller over there...

At least I am getting my post count up. ;)

OK well the automatic works differently, you have to give an automatic one a quick little "primer puff" first, then do the rest the same as with the other method I told you. After a quick primer puff you do a sloooow 1-3 second draw on the automatic, then hold the vapor in your mouth for 1 second and THEN inhale it.

Automatics will only stay lite, automatically for 4 seconds. If you ever get another battery think about getting the manual button one instead because then there is no automatic cut-off time plus it is easier to take a draw on the manual button ones.

Stash, if you don't get a sizeable discount from VaporsEtc, you should! I know I ended up over here after reading your post on CC on Monday. Ordered my kit (not from VaporsEtc but from Vapor Junction) on Tuesday and then picked up some extra juice samplers from VaporsEtc.

Very good job spreading the word! I'm in the process figuring out flavors I like and think I'll end up having to go up a notch from 16mg to 24mg. Not a big deal but wanted to know what flavors I wanted first.

So far, I've had 4 analogs since I got this thing yesterday afternoon. That's pretty darned good for a PAD smoker. Now to get my husband loving this. I'll definitely have to start him on 24 or 36 since he's easily a 1 1/2 to 2 PAD smoker.

Thanks again!

Ahh. To be on a cruise again would be so nice. I have been on 5. Last one was 2 years ago to Alaska. Very cool. Smoking was allowed but only on the starboard side of the ship. Weird. I guess smoke acts differently on the right side of a ship. Anyway, I wasnt a vaper then, but now I am. The only thing I am scared about is getting my ecig confiscated at airport security. Do ecigs set off metal detectors?

trainman, open up your ecig and check that the cotton part in the mouthpiece is wet. if there's no liquid in it, you can puff till you die and you'll never get vapor. also, their may be a layer of primer on your atomizer. all new attys are primed with a disgusting tasting coat of some crap. you have to wash it off with soap and water, then blow out the excess water and thoroughly dry the atty. was your ecig heating up when you took a puff? if it is not getting hot, it may be defective. i took out a brand new atty last week (after my car ate yet another ecig--beware of dropping it) and it was a dud, put it right in the trash. you will need at least 2 spare batteries and one spare atty to begin with. i keep buying new starter kits because they are often cheaper than buying the parts separately. they all come with a charger, so i have several. i like to keep 2 going at once so that all my battys stay charged. if you are going to buy juice, you might want to consider a sampler pack so that you can decide what flavors you like and then buy them in bigger sizes.

hope your stuff works so you can get started. fyi, i, like many other posting here, never smoked another analog cigarette after that first day. good luck, and keep in touch.

I was just going to post a i'm back type a thread with some questions. and i guess i still will so it doesn't get lost in this one.

Anyway i just got back from a long vacation part of which included a 7 day cruise on carnival.

Carnival btw still has smoking sections or should i say non smoking sections as it seems most of the ship was still smoke friendly. Basically anything outdoors, outdoor pools and decks were smoking and almost every bar and the casino was smoking. They even had a cigar lounge/bar that sold cigars and i should've taken a picture of this because i couldn't believe what i saw but in this entire cigar smoking lounge/bar there were 2 count them 2 seats at the bar itself with no smoking signs. No in a room full of cigar smoke i highly doung those 2 seats would be safe from the second hand smoke lol.

Having gone on a roal caribian cruise before; this was a totally different experience. I believe roal caribeean like you said was mostly non smoking and i think smokers were basically baned to some small remote locations as i dont remember ever smelling smoke the whole time.

anyway just though i'd share that experience. and i will make another post about the questions i have.

last week i went through both palm beach international and laguardia in nyc. i had two full ecigs, 6 batteries, 1 atomizer, and 2 chargers in my handbag. didn't even take them out. it was fine. sailed right through. i did put my bottles of juice in the plastic baggies with my other liquids. it was heaven smoking (vaping) on a plane again.

Hi .. congratulations to you!!! and hahaha about vaporsetc, Ross the owner doesnt even know I have referred anyone. In fact I order stuff from him 1-2 times a week and one of my own orders arrived today but had the wrong thing in it .. ooops, so emailed Ross and he called me on the phone within 5 mins, apologizing and he's sending me out the right part tomorrow. LOL.

I just am very happy with his service and so is my sister. In the beginning I ordered an eGo, which I love and also use everyday .. I ordered it from another supplier that I also love .. NicotineNirvana. But I didnt want to recommend the eGo to a large number of beginners because it is not as easy to use as the 2-piece KR808 is. But later on, once you totally convert to the e-cig, you might want to move up to an eGo (or a Riva).

I also have bought from VaporJunction .. they are also fantastic!!! But since I had personally gotten my own KR808 from vaporsetc, and my sister too .. that's why I recommended them on cruise critic. When my own KR808 first arrived weeks ago, one of the batteries never worked, I emailed them and they mailed me a replacement the very next day, no questions asked. I appreciate that type of service from a supplier and knew that Ross always stands behind whatever he sells, and makes it right if something is wrong or broken.

I only tried vaporsetc liquids for the first time earlier this week, and I do love them .. more than any others I have tried (except for his marlboro one which I did not like). So this week I ordered a LOT more juices from him .. he does have a deal that lasts until tomorrow night. On his liquids you can get 3 for the price of 2 .. you use a coupon code he has that is JUICEDEAL when you check out and it will calculate the 3-for-2 pricing. I do love his hazelnut mocha coffee juice and his pina colada and his peppermint. I get them at 24mg with the PG/VG .. because I want a decent throat hit so that's why I get mine with the PG based. And except for a tobacco flavor I always get the "flavor boost" ... adds more flavor to the taste and doesnt cost extra.

Bonnie he doesnt have a separate atty, he has the 2-piece ecig, the KR808, so his cartos are a combo of the atty and the juice, they are pre-filled already and dont have any primer on them. He may have gotten a bad battery, one of mine was bad in my initial kit too .. it would act like it was charging, it's little light would blink, but it wasnt ever really charged, so Ross replaced it the next day. Or maybe he got blank cartos by mistake.

Even if one of my KR808 batteries is completely dead it does a total recharge in 2 1/2-3 hrs, never 8 hrs. I hope Trainman comes back here tonightso we can ask him to try the other battery and see if he just happens to have gotten a bum battery.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jackie.

Okay, I think I'm starting to get a handle on this. Your explanation was very thorough! What I should now be looking to buy are blank cartos and whatever flavored juices I want. So, how does one get the cartos filled? A syringe? And, do they sell syringes on the vaposetc site? Any other equipment you think I'll need? A spare battery or charger, maybe?

I want to make sure I am fully stocked with everything I need, because I am looking to get off analogs all together (see, I'm learning fast - analogs are real cigarettes, right?;)).

Inquiring minds want to know .... I'm so excited about this!
if you are going to use the juice straight from the bottle, you will not need a syringe. the bottle has a dropper top and you will just squeeze the bottle to get a few drops in the cartridge. be careful not to overflow it or you will get a mouthful of juice which can be really disgusting. if you are going to dilute your juice like i do, or add flavorings or grain alcohol (for a big throat hit), then you will need a syringe. i got mine from our vet. you can buy them in any medical supply store. please remember to wash your hands after you handle the juice. also keep it out of reach of babies and pets. nicotine can be harmful.

Hi Eric, what a funny story about the cigar lounge, thanks for the great visual description, I am still giggling about the 2 non-smoking seats! On Royal Caribbean we can smoke on our balconies, in 1-2 bars, in the casino but only on non-formal nights, and only in a few certain areas on the outside decks. Very often the non-smokers will walk past one of the outside smoking areas and they wave their arms and cough and make remarks .. hello you just walked thru the smoking area, did you expect no smoke?

Hi .. nice to meet another vaper! There is a great thread on ECF all about airport security, it was written by a TSA agent, who is also a vaper. I dont remember which forum it is in but if you read it you will feel a lot better. Back when he started his thread ecigs were very new and so TSA did sometimes inspect them, but even then they ended up going thru OK because they are not bombs LOL.

You can put your ecig in the plastic bin if you want, or you can leave it in your carryon .. either way it will be fine.
