Imeo - No, I don't believe I've ever spoken to Victro before. I really don't know what happened. But anyway...

I do like Scha's idea too, which seems to be sort of the direction GG products are going in. Lots of extra parts! It also seems relatively easy to install them yourself. I've been watching videos and haven't quite worked out the button in my head yet, but I'm sure if I get it in my hands it won't be difficult.

I don't think anyone would complain if it became feasible for you to do GG full time, either.

Zaiden - Thanks for clarifying. I am not sure of the current process of assembling GG's in terms of parts, but essentially we're talking about either minor upgrades that don't alter the form (magnets), and body materials. That's more do-able, to a degree. There's still lots of combinations in there. I suppose it depends on how much time, and how many employee's Imeo has, and how big he can get his shipments to various vendors.

the only way this possible is if you place a customer order apart from the regular stuff and maybe wait a month or 2... Imeo can do this if he knew how much each part cost to make in brass, aluminum, or nickel plated...

But, have parts not avaible on the shelves and have it made to order... At say sifferent prices for different metals... Like just for example...

aluminum center post = $10
Brass center post = $13
Nickel plated post = $20

this just an example and pay the extra service charged for putting the unit together for custom order...

Customisation is easy BUT there is a cost !
Take My transparent tube .
To have just 1 made i was quoted £130 thats about $210
So to get the cost down I had 20 made at £31 about $53
I took the risk because I gambled on that they would sell and they did .
Quantity is the KEY
If i asked for 5000 I could prob get down to £6 = approx $10 ea
Could I sell 5000 ? prob not
So if I or anyone else produces a Gold Tinted ZEBRA Striped with Pink Dots Tranparent Tube the person who wanted it may like it BUT
how many would I sell ? Prob only 1
so the price for that 1 would be £150 = $300
So if you want one $300 and its yours .
Order 5000 @ $10 and they are all yours because no one else is gonna buy one !
These prices are just random examples they arent true prices , just so you get the jist
The more the quantity the lower the cost of each unit .
CAN IT BE DONE ?

I edited spelling (I'm a writer - yes, I'm totally OCD about it), and I took out that I was wrong about this being Imeo's hobby, because I wasn't wrong. You misinformed me. I wanted to make sure my information was correct.

Nothing else was changed, as I'm sure you know, but failed to mention. There is nothing about the actual content of my posts, or any of my remarks towards you, that changed. I edited it for technical correctness. My posts weren't deleted because I didn't attack you in the first place, before I edited them or after. That's why they're still up.

OT, making a custom rig can be a bit of a pain. Many issues including sellers holding stock of slow moving expensive parts, cleaning, missing, scratches etc.

As the only seller who exclusively did GG selling the parts kept me going. Sellers need to sell the options, will allow them to increase their revenue which hopefully will flow through to better support for users.

Mind you being an active seller didn't go so well for me

I think there is some big hitters out there with big check books that would only love to have the GG line and would stock huge parts if the opening where to ever happen. Rob does a pretty darn good job as one of them and if it can happen I think he would welcome stocking a big number of parts if this ever comes to fruition.

Some think like that happened could be win for all, large runs, no stock issues, cheaper prices due to volume runs etc.

I'm not so sure about that, in what way ??? I think it would sell 10 times more, maybe even more then that, I think if it took off pricing would also come down for all consumers
