Just a quick question: I know the KR808d-1 regular-length batteries offered by Drew have an extended (7 sec) cutoff, but what's the cut-off on the Mega KR808s? Is it the standard 5 sec?

I can't seem to find this info on Nhaler.com or here in the forum...though I feel like it's been mentioned before.

ETA: I am specifically asking about the KR808 Mega batteries sold by Nhaler -- I have a standard one with the 5-second cutoff, I am wondering if the ones Drew stocks are different.

Thanks in advance!

well...here is an interesting reply I got when I wrote to health cabin and asked them what the cutoff time was for their 808d-1 xl (mega) 380 mah batteries was.
"hi Lorraine,

manual batteries have no cut off time. normally only auto batteries have cut off time.

kr808d-1 is manufactered by Kanger. you can google kanger and get more information about them.

Amy"

As far as being manufactured by Kanger....obvioulsy that is for the batteries that health cabin sells...I have no idea about Nhaler or anyone else.
But needless to say now I am totally confused!

I have been very happy with my 5 second manuals from V4L. I just thought it was weird that a supplier/manufacturer would say that manuals had no cut off time. Maybe it's just the language thing?
So doing the "speedshift" thing wouldn't overheat the carto and cause burning? I did try it though....your right...it works very nicely and gives a nice burst of fresh flavor at the end as well. Or that's how it seems to me anyway :)
There is a KR808d-1 XL out there that boasts a 13 second cutoff but it is not from Nhaler so I feel it wouldn't be appropriate to mention the name. If a moderator or Drew doesn't have a problem with it I will go ahead and name them in another post.

I believe the vast majority of 808s out there are manufactured by Kanger, the original maker. I have a KR808d-1 mega battery, not from HealthCabin but a Kanger, and it flashes at ~5 sec, shuts off at ~6 (though I count slow, heh). That's the standard cut-off for KR808 megas, as far as I know.

Some manual KR808s, like the regular-sized ones Drew offers, are specially made to have an extended cut-off, but that's an advantage I would expect a supplier to advertise (because it's worth paying extra for, of course). I just haven't heard of a KR808 manual battery, XL or otherwise, that doesn't have a cut-off, so that seems disingenuous to say it doesn't have one.

Of course, Drew's totally right that you can get around that cut-off by being a multi-press fiend. (me too, heh.)

yeh i have Drews mega manuel battery XL 380mah and its pretty powerfull. I also have the same battery from elsewhere and its automatic. some say the automatic is a workhorse and maybe so. But to me i find the manuel mega is stronger. not much but a bit stronger. But just took my XL manuel out and its 5 to 7 sec. tried it the way Drew said by pressing and release and then press again. it was fine before but by pressing twice its kinda better. I find i dont use the XL much. kinda like my shorter ones better when im out. anyway just posting i should be outside working but this is more fun lol. Happy vaping

The manuals that veryone has right now are 5 to 7 second cut off...With a manula battrey this is very easy to surpass as I described in the post above...Just press and release and press again..You will find this quite nice!!!
Drew

WOW! You said that right. I fogged the room using that technique.

Thanks Drew!
