Sometimes it just takes longer for some people. My mom smoked her nightly cig for at least 3 months into vaping. I still cant believe she succeeded in quitting. Give your dad more time and continue your support. I'm betting he may have smoked much much longer than you and it's a die hard habit. On a side note, when my Sis was preg she had a hard time the first month and was still smoking 5 a week. Her DR told her not to repeat this BUT She said 1 or 2 a day isn't as bad as some think. Not good but shouldn't cause any real damage to a person. Good luck to you and your family!

That is what I tell him but he so excited about almost quitting and so easily. Guess he just wants to finally say he is a non smoker and for him that means no nic either.

One thing he is liking is he is not eating more like other times he has tried to quit. He says its like having multiple desserts anytime he wants. I thik my mother is jealous.:?:

I had to buy a totally spare battery so I could leave my ecig set up overnight. I found it stressful and disruptive to disassemble my ecig and set it up to charge right before bed. It was like "is this the last drag? is this? am I done? is this?" Drove me nuts. So now I don't have to do that. I set everything else up to charge some time before that and I have an overnight battery. I can vape up to the second I go to bed and I can vape the minute I get up with no assembly. I use cartomizers so I don't have to deal with cranky carts.

If he had a spare he could even take it up to bed.

I had that same issue. For the first couple weeks, I couldn't resist a cigarette before bed. For me it tapered off naturally as I got better at vaping, and more used to the flavor(s). I found the cig less and less appealling, and didn't get any better of a hit from it than my eGo.

I still take either my 510 or Volt with me to bed, and vape for a good 15-30 minutes. I do think that it keeps me awake a little longer, but I don't mind.

I seriously doubt upping the nic in the evenings will help its not a craving its a ritual or a mental block. I would let him go with the one cig a night and leave his cigarettes sit out in the open, in a warm dry place, if he is only smoking one a day I doubt he will realize they are getting stale and just think they are tasting worse than ever that may break him of it.

If hes down to 1 a day already then he has a great deal of will power and I'm sure in time that his last cig of the day will fade away and be replaced with the last vape of the day. I would think nothing of it and just praise the heck out of the accomplishment he has made already. Believe in time and with experience he will not want that last cig but until then dont give it a second thought.

Give your Dad some time. I smoked for 46 yrs before I found e-cigs and this site. After so many years the "Habit" of when you smoke & where you smoke is truely as hard to break as smoking itself. I was a "last thing at night & 1st thing in a.m." guy.(Always in bed- not smart!!) When it came to the point of cutting those 2 out for good I actually got scared not to have them.
It took time but I eventually cut the last 2 out. Now I Vape last thing at night & 1st thing in a.m., even in bed!!

Your Dad is doing great & he will succeed !!
