She slept a lot yesterday from the anesthesia & IV pain meds, then had kinda a rough night. The numbing med injected in her foot, nerve block, or whatever they did is starting to wear off. Pins & needles tingling in her toes is driving her nuts. Her pain level stayed between 8-10 all night despite pain pills. But she was able to get short periods of sleep. Her appetite is good, no nausea, no other problems. Hoping today is better for her than last night.

She had fever earlier, but it's down normal atm. If it goes up and stays up I have to take her in. She seems ok though, pain, and tired of laying down that's making her back hurt too...poor girl. I feel for her but I'm holding firm on keeping it elevated above heart, or I'm trying to. I have a strong suspicion she is having to go potty more than she normally would just so she can get up. LOL. She's staying in good spirits though. ;)

I can't blame her - it would drive me nuts too. I guess a few brief breaks from keeping the leg elevated couldn't hurt..... I hope she heals quickly!

Her pain level is under control and she is getting around better on crutches again since she isn't taking the pain meds as much. She has developed a tight chest, not sure if it is congestion from the anesthesia or just a cold starting. Two of the boys start school in the morning so I am taking her home today. I think she is looking forward to being in her own bed tonight, we all know how that is. Mom's house is great, but there's still no place like home. ;)
