@ReikiHealer - First, congratulations on going 4 days so far. Every day is like another step away from the smokes. Soon you'll be enough steps away...that you'll never want to return down that path.
I smoked for 42+ years (1 - 1 1/2 PAD) after starting in my late teens. Tried many times to quit, but never got past 4 days. vaping is what finally did it for me, because of the hand-to-mouth satisfaction it provides. Haven't had a smoke, nor even wanted one, since Jan. 14, 2014.
My health has definitely improved since quitting the smokes, too. Doctor said my lungs have never sounded so clear before, and my mild COPD (diagnosed about 12 years ago) is no longer evident. I also don't have osteoporosis any more from smoking for so many years. It's improved to just osteopenia now. My little smoker's cough has long since gone away. Even my skin is more supple and is healthier, because it's getting more oxygen delivered to it.
I also like the way my clothes, my hair, my house, and my car smell now! I never want them to smell the way they did for years, again. The economic benefits of quitting smoking and vaping instead, are also pretty amazing!
This last part is mainly for you to pass along to your Mom. Maybe it'll help her decide to try vaping, too, if she knows scientific studies are being done on it by highly respected medical & scientific institutions. It's not some "new thing" only a minority are just trying, nor "just as bad as smoking"...as some would have people believe.
I became a participant in Moffitt Cancer Center's 4-year long, 3.6 million $ study, on e-cigs a year ago. They're trying to find out many things about ecigs, some of which are: (1) should ecigs be classified as a smoking cessation product/device, (2) what side effects, if any, are there from vaping, (3) what is the success rate for smokers who quit by switching to vaping, (4) how do various nic levels, types of liquids vaped, devices used, etc. affect the success rate, and more. So, vaping IS being taken seriously by the scientifc and medical fields. Maybe Mom will be more likely to give it a try knowing that!
I hope you'll stick with vaping, and continue to be able to count the days since your last smoke! We're all here to help provide support, encouragement, knowledge, suggestions, etc. to help you!
