Day 7 of no smoking.

I'm on day 4 and am starting to get a nasty cough in the morning...I know it'll get better but it sucks in the short term.

I still have not started the coughing. But I do need to spit first thing in the morning lol.
I thought the coughing would start soon but not yet.

Congrats! You can kick them. I second suprtrkr's advice, a lot of water. It truly helps with clearing you out. I fumbled to start and didn't realize I was not getting enough water. Now, I do. Also heed jwbnyc's advice about not kicking yourself over slipping up a little, if you do. You will quit tobacco. Once you get out of this crud, it'll feel better.

Today is day 7 of not smoking cigarettes just using the vapour cigarette.
The first day was hard really hard. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th day were great. Other then the lack of sleep.
But days 5-now not so great. I am sick with smokers flu. I can't see how someone who has had this can pick up smoking again. I just want to find a dark corner and die. Told my husband if you ever see me pick up another smoke after this you are while within your right to smack me.
This is horrible. This is triggering my arthritis so that's in full swing to boot on top of feeling like crap.
I know this will pass but man this sucks. My body is definitely getting its pay back.

I remember your other post a week or so ago. I'm guessing you're vaping lower nic now?...6 or 9mg maybe?

Bummer that you're sick. Prepare some good soup and get plenty of much needed minerals back into your body...you know some good 'ol chicken soup (maybe with some added garlic powder or garlic salt) does a body good!

I still have cigarettes here but I will not touch them. The smell alone makes me sick.

I remember having an unopened carton sitting in my freezer and also a pack in my car for some time just to test myself before I finally threw them away. If the smell of cigs makes you sick now, that's obviously a big step already and you've certainly come a long way in just a short period of time. That in itself is a huge present you've given yourself for Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate during this time)...awesome!
