Looking for a source OTHER than the USB port from my computer to power my PT (KR8 type). That is- a plug into house current (DC) that has a USB output of 2 amps.
I found one E-bay source-reasonable -BUT I would have to order from China. Searching the ECF suppliers-I ran across a few that were out of stock. Tried Radio shack, Walmart, Best buy etc.-some look promising BUT NO specs listing 2 amp output. (however-most of the types that have the specs clearly written on the pak are 1.5 amps and below) The help at these places are not very adept at finding the hidden specs or locating the product I need.
Along with reading -on ECF- about possible problems related to using the PC to power the PT--I would like to us my PT away from the computer and when I travel. (I have multiple chargers (DC-USB) a PCC and a car unit that powers my PT's) I just want to add to my KR8 collection and run my PT where ever there is a wall plug.
Can any one direct me to a source?

KR8 manual batt question-
ok first 2 manual batts I got worked fine. They all wear out eventually. When I charged the original 2-the LED would blink-then go out until the charger finally changed from red to solid blue (indicating a full charge). The next one I ordered (same source) was not as powerful-the LED would stay on the entire time it charged (although it would dim as it came close to a full charge) and the indicator light would never quite turn solid blue. Dealer replaced it and let me keep the possible defective one (I sent it to him and he sent it back).
Well- the replacement does the same thing. SO-both "upgrades"-seem less powerful, don't last as long and charge differently than the first 2 I got (again-same source). They DO work- but as described.
What is your opinion of the batteries as described?

Thank you

Here is the RS model I got:

Enercell 5V/2.5A AC Adapter with USB Output : AC (Home) adapters | RadioShack.com

Works great. You will need the USB adapter for the end of the long wire, which I think is another $6. I like these kind better than the cheap ones that are a little box with one or two USB ports on them, since you get a nice long wire...essentially an extension cord for the PT.

As for your kr8 batts, it sounds like this make has a different charging indicator circuit, or else it was a lot of shotty ones. Happens. Make sure your charger behaves correctly with other kr8 batts, of course, but if these were a "deal" this may be why. I have had the same experience with some Hello 510 Sit-and-Go batts. For kr8's, like Joyes, it is often best to go with original make, in this case Kanger, rather than a less expensive knock-off that happens to have kr8 threading. They may be charging fine, but it sounds like the battery is not communicating with the charger properly in terms of what to show when it is charging or fully charged.
