Only complaint with vaping so far is that I am CONSTANTLY dehydrated. Drink a bottle of water, vape some more, and again my mouth is dry and I'm dehydrated. How do other people deal with this? Do I just need to continuously up my water intake? Water just doesn't seem to do the trick, somehow. Am I holding the vapor in my mouth too much?

do ice water rather than just tap. I find that the colder the water is, the more I actually drink it without thinking about it. The first few weeks are the worst. After that, you still need to hydrate, but it won't bother you quite as much as the first few weeks (you will SEE it though....headaches, dry skin, etc are easy clues). you can also squeeze a bit of lemon or lime in that water to change it up and make it more refreshing.

In reality, you probably won't even drink the suggested amount per day...and still be fine :) But for me it seems like way more than I used to drink. It actually is for me, regardless of amount (I did coffee non-stop prior to quitting smoking. I was chronically dehydrated without even realizing it)

vaping is very dehydrating. It is really important to keep your fluid intake up - I struggle with this alot myself. IMHO you are not vaping wrong, just adjusting to vaping. Although I still need to be mindful of it, I've gotten used to keeping a bottle of water nearby.

Welcome to the ECF! Congrats on quitting smoking.

When I first started vaping, I got chapped lips. Sometimes the edge of my nose would get chapped. It rarely happens anymore but I used to carry a chapstick around at first for my lips and my nose. lol. Weird, I don't know why but it only was at the beginning. I do drink alot more water though when vaping now, which is good anyways.

I've had a slight bit of nose-run, and a lot of sneezing. I got the same thing when I went cold turkey on cigarettes. As a smoker, I NEVER get sick. I've only gotten colds when I try to quit. Don't know what the reasoning is for that, but in my time since starting vaping, and couple of days since stopping cigarettes, I've definitely had some sneezing and runny nose stuff going on. Just adjusting, I think.

Occasionally I'll get a runny nose (from the PG) but, it only seems to happen in conjunction with my allergies. Water...lot's of it. While ice water feels nicer/more enjoyable to drink, room temp water is actually absorbed quicker into the body. Not a lot faster but, quicker by a fair amount...

Room temp kills it, as far as water goes. Something about this forum makes me feel like I need to review everything... so now I'm going to review water temperatures...

Ice water is nice and appetizing, and is great in theory...

But I work outdoors in 100+ degree heat sometimes, and even in moderate heat, ice water is a shock to your system. You can't drink it as fast, and your body actually has to work to cool it down. Drink room-temp.

Have an iced glass of lemonade for your nice, cold drink... then chug a bottle of room-temp water to hydrate.

yes, it does make you want to drink water. it's the vg/pg/flavoring coating your tongue and throat. i carry a water bottle around with me and drink constantly, maybe fill it up 3, 4 or 5 times a day at least. cigs used to make me thirsty too, though. and there's nothing bad about drinking more water, right?
