Oh crap. I was under the impression that you moved to Arizona into a store. My bad.

When I first started out in IT I used to give great customer service. Since the technology was pretty new to everyone I tried to teach people as I helped fix their problems. But over the years you realize that the majority don't want to learn, they just want you to come give them the quick-fix. They'd rather call you 5 times in a week for their same stupid mistake than remember what it is they're doing wrong.

By this point now though PC knowledge is part of the job requirements, so you often end up (repeatedly) doing for people what they supposedly already knew, in order to get their job that pays twice as much as yours.

Just like anything else, there are lots of good people out there that will remember and genuinely appreciate whatever help they get. But there are the other bad apple types that will just take advantage of the system and spoil things for everyone else.

My patience has gotten worn very thin over the years, and I sometimes feel bad about that. I originally got into IT because I liked the challenge of the new technology AND I liked helping people. Now, the latter part, not so much. :(
It works both ways. I'm very good at being honest at prioritizing. Until my most recent job, my IT people interpreted "my computer is doing X and I can't get anything done until it is fixed" meant I need help "now" and "I just noticed Z problem. I'm fine for now but need to get it fixed before the end of the week" meant I need help when you get a few minutes free.

At my last job, the former was interpreted as "wander by my office sometime in the next 3 or 4 days and, if I'm not sitting at my desk, leave and don't leave a note or anything to let me know you came by" while "sometime this week" was interpreted as "blah, blah, blah. I will again call when it becomes a 'now' problem and you can wander by my office in the 3 or 4 days after that."

Good morning everyone.
First and foremost,
Happy belated 3rd Anniversary Poeia :toast:
Way to go and by looking at the numbers, you could of bought a brand New Car or a very nice down payment on a house.
With all that money saved :D
Or I can afford to be an unemployed bum. :) That was a HUGE hunk of my cost of living.

LOL I was thinking about that myself. Just a little juice here and there, and some cartos would make unemployment a lot easier to afford. Or I could put a little more effort into the many rebuildable atomizers I've acquired and maybe even DiY to go even cheaper.

But I've picked up a car payment 7-8 months before I switched to vaping, which just about covers what I used to spend on smokes.

Ah well, there's always plan C. Coming up on my 5th anniversary where I'm at now, I could just stay employed? *gulp*

Or plan D, hit the lottery. :w00t:

Is there anyway to reset a day back to the beginning?

Only if you're Superman...

Gee, I added a signature last night and no one read it.

Thank you.

It wasn't the numbers -- those happened because I lit (if not smoked) 3 packs a day and I live in NYC which has the highest price in the country. It was that yesterday was my anniversary!

A bit late but congratulations on the three years, and the huge saving.
