it's only mid day for me.....and it has been no bueno. Stupid snow + crappy drivers knocking power out because they can't drive in it = one busy Throttles
Annabella can launch herself a few feet and sometimes choose where to land.
Poeia refuses to accept that she can fly. She is positive that she is a people, not a bird. However, she is an excellent watchbird. She will scream loudly if any strangers come near.
ETA: And she will scream even louder if I leave the room for more than 5 minutes.

Trav, was this recall that turned out to need something less than 500 new people to deal with, the one about the the childproof caps that might actually be openable without requiring tools?
I thought the north was better able to deal with snow than that throttles- hope that your day (night) got better...

LOL Yeah that's the one.
I'm thinking it was probably just panic and overreaction on the client's part. My company's used to dealing with these recall situations all the time. I'd bet we made at least a little money for every hire regardless of what the final total that ends up manning the phones.
Then again for all I know it could be mandated by the FDA or something for our client to setup for worst case, then adjust accordingly.
You think they waited long enough for the recall? I read that something over 90% has been used already.
I always thought the best response to one of those things was how Johnson & Johnson handled the original tampering case. Someone tampered with the meds in one city and they immediately recalled every bottle in the country, changed the packaging and the pills. It cost them a ton but the good PR meant everyone felt they cared about the consumer more than profits and went right back to buying Tylenol.
Of course, they lost most of that good will a couple of years ago when they waited years before recalling products made in one of their plants.

Who knows when the issue was actually brought to light? Apparently they changed the packaging even before the problem became known, at least to the public. The products are still on the market but it's only the older batches that are affected.
Thankfully I wasn't involved in the Tylenol tampering recall way back, but I was involved in their last one. Even a bigger mess than the one we have now.
But as far as announcing, that's between the FDA and our clients. We usually get a little advance notice to start gearing up before the press releases go out. For most smaller recalls (like pet food recently) we're already setup and ready to go. Then when the press release goes live we just flip the phone messaging over to whatever's been prepared. Often times with little or no increase in staffing.

I gotta say i am addicted to the bluewi. They are my two favorite fruits and this tastes like kiwi with the sweetness of a juicy ripe blueberry. I am definitely gonna have to get me a big bottle of this next time.
Now I just kinda find the MDE cheesecake boo boo post so I can try to make the keylime incident to try

Oh god no....half of the people out driving are so scared they actually cause more problems. Even worse when they have SUVs and think their 4wheel drive is unstopable.....those people crack me up as I pass them in my Saturn

Killed me when i drove to champaign one time and roads where slick. I think half the town was in ditches along the highway. Blew my mind.
I found it. Took me a few but I was determined
Stocked up on Jack Daniel's and Pizza, sitting here in my underwear (partaking of both) while technically "still at work", and all I can say is... "Let it snow!!!"
Cuz I'm off for the next 4 days.
