WHile I do not like the fact that These Senators Have a D After their Name. I will NEVER support a Party that attacks Other rights that Mean more to more people. I do not want to get into the details but I will and Have tweeted and emailed all of the 5 mentioned here and directed them to CASAA. That is what is needed. Putting Correct Information in front of them and let the truth spread. Getting mired in other issues is just going to cause more Confusion.
If we all take a moment and write ur stories and put in in an Email to every Represenative that is Our voice and continue to put it in there inbox The Information will Sink in.
Please Do Join CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association They are our Voice in all matters vaping. There are other groups Like OvalOK and VapingMilitia as well but get involed no matter what "party" this is something that can Change the World if we Unite and stay respectful and Present the Facts along with the BEnefits we can not loose.

The other problem is that some people can't support them even if they are on the same side.

Kool Aid's effects are powerful and apparently, permanent.

I have a friend who has stated emphatically and repeatedly that he'd vote for a yellow dog running as a Democrat before he'd vote for anyone running as a Republican - even if they shared all ideas and values. No thought to the voting process whatsoever, pick the letter and facts and facts be damned. Anything D is golden, anything else is crap.

This is the mindset for an appalling number of voters - on both sides.

Indeed it is, for reasons that are quiet irrelevant to vaping....what does matter is using our voices to get facts infront of their eyes, Regardless.
Getting facts in front of their eyes does matter to some degree.
But the higher you go in the political arena the less facts matter to them.

On the lower levels, such as city councils or boards of health, they may still want to do what is right.
Even at the state level, there may still be some who want to do what is right, provided they do not have further political aspirations.

But anyone who has further aspirations, and understands how the game is played?
They don't care at all about what is right.

EDIT: Okay, even they MIGHT still care what is right, but not at the expense of furthering their careers.

It didn't work for Lautenberg who I had a one way letter exchange with on multiple occasions about his stance on e cigs. The post office must have lost that mail.

There are some moderate, intelligent Democrats here in the south who I believe would not support this nanny-state mentality UNLESS the powers to be in their party made it impossible not to "go along". I don't view it as D vs R but more a moderate-conservative vs liberal mentality.

In the local paper, they do small Today in History section. In that section today was a quote that seems quite appropriate:

"Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond it's limits, is in deciding to protect us from ourselves"

- Ronald Reagan

LOL, you should see me at a Union meeting! They almost ask that I don't attend.

Problem is, Fox and Rush are actually supportive of our freedom to choose vaping, and every time someone mentions their support, someone else has to pop off with a snide remark. I would think that we should welcome anyone that has listeners/viewers and supports what we claim to want--freedom to choose vaping.

Sorry, but I'm never going to welcome Rush Limbaugh. Just not going to happen. I'm glad he vapes, but he's still a tool.

But what do you mean when you the word “welcome”? I’m not suggesting that all of a sudden everyone has to love Fox news and then follow Rush. What I am suggesting is when a fellow ECF member posts positive support of vaping by news channels and radio talk show hosts that you don’t like, then maybe you should just not say anything negative and be glad that at least one member of the media is actually furthering your own cause. All of these little BS comments about Fox, Rush, or whoever only serve to hurt or insult other ECF members.

If we avoid the who, what, why, when, where, and how... How will anyone know about this?

Should we all start watching CNN, MSNBC, or one of the other state controlled "news" outlets so that we can "protect" ourselves from learning about these things?

FOX is so "hated" because they keep popping the lid off of the bottle and letting the genie out. A sure way to tell how effective they are is to watch how upset those that have an interest in keeping certain stories out of the news get. Looks like they are doing a damn fine job to me.

Here's a link to the segment

Thanks for the link, saved me from hunting it down!

Thanks to MD Boater and Patkin for posting links to the story - seems this thread has taken off on the media rather than the issue. My thought are we have to keep our eye on the ball on this - and stay on top of what is happening - I don't care about the media quarrel just stop taking our rights away - Now for another tidbit - keep watching the news as our local tonight in Colorado had a story about kids being caught in school with vapor pens filled with {OTHER STUFF} - and some were attempting to use them in class - -the video they showed were mostly ecig hardware we all recognize easily - - - now just think what the national media will do with this - - - I feel we have to appreciate the support we get no matter where it comes from - and we need a lot of it. We can not sit in the corner on this - we have to stay on top of the issues - and don't expect somebody else to do it for us - we have to keep our eye on the ball

Here is a link to the story http://www.krextv.com/story/colo-schools-crack-down-on-.........-pens-20140206 also was on KJCT news 8 and most likely some Denver stations

I think if dem were pro ecig than Rep would be anti. Just the way it works here.

Sadly, you're probably right.

In light of recent legislative events, take a look at these lists: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ous-states-all-voted-for-mitt-romney-in-2012/

UT and ND may be the only states in the first list which appear to have bucked the trend. DC and NV look like the only two in the second group that are (so far) outliers.

It's not strictly about party, religion, or specific media outlets ... a much broader cleavage IMO.

What's clear is that it doesn't have much to do with either sound science or good public health policy - neither of which benefit from this form of what can only be called mindless tribal "group think."

Well let me see if I can make this more clear, since I did NOT say to not discuss the who, what, why, when, where, and how. The point of my warning above was:

Let's keep the media and political bickering with each other out of this please.

Thanks! :)

Any further bickering may result in infractions and/or thread closure.

Thank you

But...
The ban is on the e-cig device...Not The Juice!
I can still vaporize my e-liquids on a radiator...or a Mr coffee machine....
or a hot lightbulb.

Hmm design an e-cig in multiple parts (such as 3 stages) then sell replacement parts, not any whole device. People can buy each 3 parts to make a whole e-cig even though they are not marketed that way.

LOL Problem solved?
