First - Hi everybody. New to the forum, new to the whole concept of e-cigs so forgive my newbness. Been smoking near 20 years now and I've tried everything under the sun to quit, but no luck so far. e-cigs are my next adventure.

So, that brings me to ... is there any place in Denver, CO to buy a starter kit at a reasonable price - Like $100 or under - but more in the 50ish range?

Thanks!

In a store? Probably not. For decent prices, you'll have to go online.

I've made a little tutorial with models and sites you may want to look into. It's aimed at the newbie on a budget. :)

Thanks - I saw those before I posted and made a mental note to check them out as time permitted (since it looks like there's a good half hour of content there).

Hopefully someone in the Denver area will chime in and let me know if there's any place around. I know a lot of the malls have cigar shops and carry cigs from all over the world so I'm hoping maybe they carry e-cigs too.

I too was looking for the instant gratification to get my kit asap, I was headed out to my local cigar shoppe as they had a kit there, found this place and started reading, opted to order online, got a 902 solo kit from modernvapor.com (which is a 510 type) and got it in about 3 days...haven't picked up an analog cig since....there are MANY awesome vendors on here, just ordered an Ego kit from Cignot.com as well....waiting on that now....so take your time, read on and then pick...but all posts show that anyone that bought at a kiosk or 'shop' paid WAY more than they needed to, save your $$$ so you can then upgrade if needed! LOL...welcome and enjoy....greatest ride of my life!

As noted before in this thread "rocky mountain vapor" is very good. As well here are a couple more suppliers. Litecigusa.net ,and vaper4life.com these are very good companies, especially litcigusa.net. they have great prices and a huge selection to choose from. I would place vaper4life.com as a perfect ecig nube starter company they are a tab more pricey but there products are very simple to use and they only sale a variety of one model . They are also Far suppierior to any product you'll buy in a mall kiask.

Good points. I guess I'll do some research on the site and see what I can come up with.

@otrpu - thanks for the link. Might be interesting to check that meet out, if anything just for the learning experience. I'll check my calendar.

I started vaping 1 year ago yesterday (yea!) and drove to Breckenridge to get my first 'real' kit (Joye 510) where Rocky Mountain Vapor used to be. He had to move out of state shortly after that but still has his business and some great prices. I made the mistake of buying an Njoy at Smoker Friendly a few days prior to going to the mountains but do credit that one with my introduction to ecigs and stopping the analogs for good. I'd never buy any way but online now, because you get twice the product for half the money. So follow the good advice here and get yourself a good ecig online. Good luck!

Well, if anyone it keeping tabs - I found a thread on the site here about 7-11 selling e-cigs. Now, I know they aren't the best but I'm very much the instant gratification type so after reading through that entire thread it seemed there were a lot of people who were "anti" and "pro" - with a vast majority of the people who had tried them being on the pro side and many other voices who hadn't bought them being on the not so pro side. Well, there's a 7-11 within view of my house so I popped on over and picked up the starter kit for $20. I was just about out of the so called analog smokes anyway so I figured what could it hurt? I'd be wasting $20 on something else stupid at one point or another so why not waste it on something that could maybe save my lungs some more torture.

I bought the plain version (not menthol). The flavor is nothing even close to a Marlboro Light like I'm use to, and I don't think the throat impact is as high as I'm used to from an analog, but overall its not a terrible experience. The after taste leaves a little bit to be desired, but it could be worse. The weird part is seeing "smoke" come out, but not having the smoke smell. That'll take some getting used to. Another thing I think will take some getting used to is ... I feel stupid. I imagine I don't look any dumber than someone with a real cigarette in their hand, but it just feels different for some reason. Can't place my finger on what it is yet.

While we're at it, I pulled the trigger on the Bluecigs.com starter kit this afternoon after giving the 7-11 kit a try. It comes with everything all in one shot and a friend of mine highly recommended them. I figure as a place to get started they had some good sounding flavors and I really liked the charging pack they include since I work 12 hour shifts. I understand from reading around the site that there are better options out there, but I also figured out from reading around the site I have a heck of a lot more reading to do before I really know what I'm talking about and buying. My hope is that with an all in one pack to start me off - by the time I smoke my way through that I'll be ready to really decide what unit I want to go with, what battery type I would want, and all the other options out there.

So, I guess thanks for the recommendations everyone gave. I'll be spending a lot of time going through the posts on the site. I had no idea there were so many options available in this vapor thing!

Welcome, fellow Mile-Hi-er. I did pretty much the same thing you did. And to top it off, because I'm also of the instant-gratification mode, I stopped at a kiosk in Flat Irons Mall and paid way too much for a 510 pass-through that went bad 3 times within a 2 month period. I'd had enough of that run-around by then and found better deals on-line. As someone else mentioned in this thread, the one good thing about those start-ups is it gives you the idea of whether or not you can quit the analogs through e-cigs. Stick with it.

I was in the same boat as you. 10 days using Blu and they are not worth the cash, but I have not smoked an analog. I just ordered the Joye Ego Tank, and can't wait to give it go. I used a friend's and it is awesome compared to Blu. I can't believe the difference. It's night and day.

Good Luck, and I smoked Camel's for over 20 years without any time off them. 10 days straight with e-cigs, and I can't believe how easy it has been.
