I would recommend an eGo passthrough with a Vision eGo clearomizer. The eGo passthrough is able to work all day attached to your computer via USB but is also maintaining it's charge, so you can remove it and get hours of independent vaping. The clearomizer is easy to use and monitor fluid levels. You may need to refill it once or twice in a twelve hour day, but it's easy to unscrew the top, put in liquid directly from the bottle and close it - about 30 seconds if you take your time. If you get a kit with two batteries and clearomizers you are in a pretty much fail safe situation with ready spares to start.

Although this is an inexpensive solution, it is also very effective and even if you end up going to bigger devices later it will serve as an excellent backup.

I don’t have much to add as I am still new and learning but i just wanted to let you know that even if you regret the v2 it will work out fine now that you are here. The knowledge on this board is phenomenal and people are always willing to help. You will recoup the money you lost so far quite quickly once you get going and if you are willing to learn new things you can get into the rebuildables and diy juice, that way you can eventually enjoy all the nicotine you will need for less than a dollar a day. Relax, enjoy, you came to the right place to learn

That is what I meant. Going cheap often cost more in the long run. With what I spent on Blue, 21st Century and Fin I could have had that bottom feeder and a couple of large bottle of juice.

When I start thinking about the portable solution I will probably regret the V2 as well.

Are the bottom feeders the big dogs of the e-cig world?

In a way, I suppose you could regard the REO as one of the "top dogs"...but only one of many. It's all metal and virtually indestructible, and by all accounts, very reliable. The Vmod is very popular with lots of people, and they all seem to swear by it. It's price point is a bit lower as I don't think it's considered as "indestructible", but in function it's very reliable. The advantages of the bottom feeder (as you may have figured out by now when you looked them up) is you fill a bottle which is held in the PV, and a type of cartomizer or atomizer is affixed on top. As you vape, you can squeeze the bottle in the PV and feed the atomizer. There is a learning curve with it, but it's a great concept.

There are all sorts of sizes of tanks...and they are made of varying materials. The most common is polycarbonate tubing, but if you use juice with cinnamon or cola flavoring, or citrus (and some others) the polycarbonate can crack over time from the juice. A popular "budget friendly" choice is polypropylene tubes...which are resistant to cracking. They are very good, but perhaps not as "fancy" as the upper end tanks like Pyrex and glass tanks. As for durability...both the polypro and glass/Pyrex are similar. Both CAN break under certain circumstances, but with normal use it shouldn't be a problem. For the average vaper 5 or 6ml. in a tank should last an entire day. They are easy enough to fill and maintain, too.

i would go for a 5v pass thru without a battery and manual switch. a good one should last years. i use mine with a dripping atomizer on a 1 amp usb adapter and it produces all the vapour i need. i also have a 1.5 amp version but it is too harsh. best of luck with whichever way you go .

Can you link to some "good ones"? The ones I have seen I don't know if the would last for years. Thank you

I would suggest wither buying, or building a passthrough. I personally use the ego passthrough battery. Cost me $25 plus shipping from Mr. E-Liquid, and is charged through a traditional USB port via a plug in the end. This allows you to use it while at the computer, as well as take it with you if need be. It comes with a 5' cable too. As for dripping, it's as it sounds. Dripping to get flavor. Use a traditional, or rebuildable atty, plus a drip tip. It is my prefered method of use as I believe it gives you a more true taste of the liquid. But, it you are going to be at your computer for hours on end working, I would look towards a semi-rebuildable such as a Nova or rebuildable tank atty.

I just found out I cannot ask in the experts section yet. I want to get pointed in the right direction.

I hope to get something that I can use for the next few years (is this practical) from the desk. Here is the question to get started.

I word from a desk for 12 hours a day. I don't want to have to get up from the desk but to stay put and work. Where should my education start? This unit will stay at the desk, it will not go out in the back yard or any place.

I don't know what dripping is, how a clearomizer is different than a tank or anything for that matter. I just want something for when I am working (not relaxing) at the desk.

What would you guys like for the desk bound solution and why?

V2's will be my portable solution until after I get the desk bound solution taken care of.

Part of what you're probably looking for is a "pass through". They plug in to a powered USB port instead of running of batteries. Some have batteries and by pass it when plugged in (hence, "pass trough"), others don't have a battery at all. The latter can be had quite inexpensively (mine cost $15). Or some systems are designed to do both. Like, oh, here's a random example: Ego Passthru Baseline Kit. They plug in at the desk, run off batteries when away.

I already have the eGo passthrough. I am moving on to the Provari. I am going to try some more delivery systems.
