Hi all,

Just received my e-power and was very much looking forward to this moment!! Unfortunately, the directions on how to use it are terrible and I'm clueless. I've looked for a tutorial, videos etc... and can't find anything..

How many drops of juice do you need to put in the cartridges?
Also, I can taste the flavor but there's no vapor what-so-ever when I exhale!.
Do I hold the button down (it blinks and then stops) while I inhale?
(both batteries are fully charged)
Additionally, with one cartridge, I received a mouth full of juice. Yuck:)

.I'd send a link to the kit I purchased from Hoosier but it's no longer on his site. it's an e-power 14650 and came with 2 batteries and a box of empty cartridges. I've filled two of them thus far..

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I was really hoping to start the new year off right:)

Make sure the battery is fully charged. Insert it with the positive at the top (the end with the projecting bit).

If you have any other 510 end fittings, you can test it with those - cartos etc. If you have an atomizer + cartridge, then see these instructions:
Beginner Tutorial - 2

...about halfway down, under Setting Up.

If you only have empty cartridges, you need to pull out the filler, drip about 10 drops of liquid into the cart, replace the filler, drip a couple of drops on top, then place the cart fully onto the atomizer. If the carts are all empty and you don't have any filler, you need to buy some blue aquarium foam. You could improvise until then, maybe: cut a quarter-inch off a cigarette filter and use that.

Can someone tell me why they even bother to sell kits with cartridges?

Sorry, I'm no help with your battery but you should really get yourself a box of cartomizers (cartridge and atomizer combined). I have never been able to use the cartridge/atty setup. Try the boge 2.0, or the 1.7 cartos that they sell at Hoosier.

Nooo! Don't give up. Just a minor setback. If the light blinks rapidly and then shuts off, your battery is not charged. Make sure that the red light is on when you put the battery on to charge. If it has a red light. Sometimes I have to make sure that my batteries are making good contact in the charger (e.g. the red light comes on). When the battery is charged, then the light should turn green.

Yes how many times have we seen new vapers completely let down because cartos weren't included in the Kit. It's so very obvious and has been proven time and time again cartos are the easiest way to begin the vaping journey. EVERY Starter Kit should have a recommendation that they consider buying cartos IMHO.

I am sorry that you're having this frustrating start. You will get there -- I use the E-Powers and am happy with them. However, there is a known issue with the current switch for the 14650. Does yours have a white LED? If so, it is rated for use with carts and cartos at 2.0 ohm and above. I would not attempt using a 1.7 LR or dual coil with it. If you are getting a fast blink and then the LED turns off, you may be able to reset it by removing the switch completely and letting it "rest" for an hour or so. Without seeing your actual unit, my money would be on the switch being the issue in this case.

I'd encourage you to contact Brent at Hoosier; he has a great reputation for being very helpful. There is a next-generation switch "coming soon" and if I were you, I'd be asking for one as a replacement for the current switch.

You can use the white LED switch with these cartos. The XL size means needing to fill less often. I find filling easiest with a blunt needle syringe; there is plenty of info here on ECF about that method. Cartos win hands-down on the E-Power, IMHO.

I'd encourage you to work through this (though it's very frustrating, I realize). Once you get past this, I think you'll find the E-Power to be a workhorse with good performance and easy maintenance. Hope this info helps a little; let me know if there's any further information I might be able to help with (not a veteran here in the least, just an E-power user who has been through the beginning stages myself).

Do we know that these are in fact cartridges?

Crystal, are these cartridges one piece units or do they consist of two pieces?

Hi Claire,
We got our e power about the same time from the same supplier and I agree the instructions are a bit poor. The first thing I found out is the battery goes in the charger with the positive tip down. When it is fully charged the charger will have a green light. You said the light blinks several times when you push the button. Mine does this when the battery is going dead. You should have a solid light when you push and hold the button. As for the cartos I either drip my juice down the sides a few drops at a time and give it time to soak in but try not to get it in the center hole. I also got a syringe from one of the juice suppliers and will use it sometimes. I put the tip of the blunt needle between the wall of the carto and the packing and slowly inject the juice all around. If I can help any at all just give me a pm.
