What's up with Todd complaining about the menu? It's basically the same menu as in Pipeline Pro / Dani Extreme / Little Greek. You don't have to dive into extended menus much. You just set it, and adjust temp/watts. Sure, you have to go into the menus when you change coils and atties if you use TC, but it's not that big of a deal that Todd makes it out to be.

I like Todd by and large but tha review was ridiculous. I watched it before my 2380 arrived and was thinking it would take me a weekend to figure out how to turn it on whereas it took about 10 minutes to figure out the whole menu system...he really dropped the ball on that one i fear!

Hi Todd...agree that it is an extensive menu but after the initial set up, there's no need to mess with it. FWIW, I like having the option to fine tune things to my liking...appeals to the geek in me. ;)

Just my opinion at the end of the day and even though I'm a long time user of the Dani's and still use the 2380 on a regular basis, I maintain it's menu overkill.

I don't own one Todd but I agree with you. I would like to see all those features and tweaks maintained but do it thru a computer like the (dare I say it) dna 200.

Hi George,
for some, hooking your mod up to a PC is going to appear to be a bit of overkill...lol!

Your opinion is very highly regarded! What I meant was, I guess, that your 2380 review was a wee bit over the top. A bit grumpy :) God knows I can understand that trying to do a full review of all the bell and whisles is enough to try the patience of a saint!! I also understand what you are saying about the complexity and I agree that there is some serious overkill but, again, most of the options can be left at default with no problems. If someone wants to use them, then figure it out and use em, if not, just use the basic set. In the end, maybe it would have been good to say that this is a complex device, but it has a basic feature set that is accessible with a load of other stuff that has a steeper learning curve?!?!

anyway just going to see what you think about the Triton (although Im sort of tired of the sub-ohm tank fad but this one looks interesting!!

Cheers

Yeah - I know Steve,

But have you read any post by the DNA200 folks they seem to thing the computer hook-up that Evolv uses is to "die for".

When I looked thru the Dicodes menus I could help think of the Provari 3 and every time I watch a video on it I find myself going darn that is a lot of work just to change/check this or that and the P3 is modest compared to the 2830.

You are probably right about folks getting excited "What now I have to have a computer to use my Mod". Actually I have read the manual on the 2830 a couple of times and never really gave the amount of menus a second thought until I watched Todd's video. He does have a way of driving a point home with his Scottish accent and facial expression.

PS - Todd I love your reviews and have never fallen asleep during one of yours like some others I have attempted to watch. That should get me off the hook.

awww mate, Im not criticising the DNA200 - I like the Dicodes for gods sake!! Hooking a mod to a PC and twiddling with stuff?? It doesnt get any better than that...sad I am..

I also echo your sentiments about Todd's reviews...maybe that will get me off the hook too...:)

I could say a million and one things in a review but my opinion is my own and really at the end of the day no more valid than anyone else's.

In the description of every video I say I am no expert and ask folk to check out other reviews and not just go off something I say.

    Todd,
I am pretty sure I have heard you say
"I could say a million and one things in a review but my opinion is my own and really at the end of the day no more valid than anyone else's." a gazillion times.

I don't think you need defend anything regarding your reviews. :2c:

Sure, it is an advanced menu, but once it's set, it's set. I like it. I can't think of a thing that I'd like removed from the menu, as it's all pretty useful.

I respect your opinion and I can understand that the menu is overwhelming at first. I just think you made out to be too much of an negative, that's all. :)

I've been using a P3 since launch, so the one button menu has been second nature to me. There is more going on here, but I know in a couple of weeks I'll be able to go through the menu while driving and adjust on the fly. The one and only issue I think about the 2380 is the weight, it's a solid mod.

The 2380T is my indestructible mod. I take this baby with me out in the field when i do field work. Paired with a squape rs, this thing will never break or fail me. I love dna 40, dna 200, sx350j and my sx350 mods. My mark bugs stuff is the stylish out and about mods when my gems get here. This thing stays unlocked for me. I simply push the button and vape. The 18350 mode is where it's at for me. Super compact and discrete. Dang thing won't even scratch when it's with my keys. I also like to see what mahs I get from different batteries.

Yeah, it's a brick and super computer rolled into one, lol. It'll do everything and handle anything you throw at it.

I'm also flying through the menu system like it's nothing. The button takes a good force to activate that there's no need to lock the device, yet the button is so freakin smooth.
