now a moan..I am a bit confused as to what this thing is doing with the initial resistance calibration - particularly the 'interesting' decreasing T phenomenon mentioned by @TheBloke a few pages back. Seeing this now with the Tilemahos. Temp eulilibrate everything then Temp Init. Check R and Temp and the R stays around 0.35ohms but T value decreases steadily to 9°C or something and stays there. Now Im thinking this is a dodgy build so put it on the SX mini which is the most moody and sensitive mod I have and it is rock solid 0.324 ohms. Doesnt change at all even to the 3rd dec place. So wth is going on with the dicodes. To be honest it doesnt affect the vape at all...its strange and a bit irritating!

You're not alone, I've had mine reading -162°C, + 132°C and everything in between. In the end I fooled it into reading 20°C by running Temp Init a few times and then hitting Process.

I would suggest you turn auto calibration off. Make sure your atomiser has a good connection to the mod. I usually change around from my tank to drippers. But I remember once having my Veritas on it all weekend and the temperature reading when the coil was cold was always 20 ± 2 C.

I don't have auto calibration on. I've tried a few RTAs including the Flash e Vapour V3 and the E-Phoenix Hurricane both of which have really solid connections. At the moment my FEV is reading -12°C resting.

Its got to the point where I'm beginning to think TC isn't for me, I've not had much luck with the Evolve chips either.

Just screwed a Squape R on and its reading 639°Co_O

Are you recalibrating the mod every time you connect another atomiser on it?
Basically every time you switch atomiser you need to go through the menu to "Temp init", press once to show "confirm" and once again for "process" to appear.

Yes. I've checked and re-checked my builds, tried Dicodes wire, titanium, and nickel. The problem persists, it doesn't seem to settle at 20°C to allow accurate calibration.

The way I figure it, even if something about my builds is wrong, given the amount of attempts I've made to get it running properly I should have had at least one decent build with pure dumb luck, but so far no joy.

No I'm not talking about your coil builds. You're talking about getting crazy readings like negative degrees or +100 when you first screw the atomiser on. I've only seen this behaviour when I've attached a different atomiser on it and forgot to recalibrate it. Let's say you have Dripper #1 on it. If you want to put Tank #1 on it you unscrew the dripper, screw on the tank and then you go through the menu an re-calibrate the coil to your ambient temperature.

I see what you mean. I was assuming you had to have a reading of 20°C before you went through the calibration procedure. Is the resting temperature of the mod irrelevant then?

One of the biggest flaws of this mod is that it doesn't have an onboard temperature sensor. So what you're doing with the recalibration in the menu is telling it that you have screwed a new atomiser on the mod and that it's at the temperature of 20C. What this means is that if you live in a warm mediterranean country for example and the temperature is 35C at that time, you need to adjust your desired target temperature (from say 230 to 245). This is all in the manual (which is badly written), I would suggest you go through it.

What's up with Todd complaining about the menu? It's basically the same menu as in Pipeline Pro / Dani Extreme / Little Greek. You don't have to dive into extended menus much. You just set it, and adjust temp/watts. Sure, you have to go into the menus when you change coils and atties if you use TC, but it's not that big of a deal that Todd makes it out to be.

Just found this thread...checking in with 2380 nos. 32 & 44 (although 44 may get sold). Love the mod...vapes like a dream and is built like a tank. Weight took a bit of getting used to after the P3 Ti & WAE II (the other extreme). Only using it in 18650 mode for now and haven't had the time to play with TC mode.
