DID clone help

Just got my did clone today, its freaking cheap. but i have a problem, i can't get it to work! i have a finished wrap already, and when i check the ohms on my lavatube, it keeps saying 9.9(which is when nothing is attached to the connector) and it wont fire at all! what did i do wrong?

You might of over tightened the center post nuts causing the center pin to not make contact on the 510 connection on your pv. Try pushing down some on the center pin of your did, if that doesnt work try loosening all three of the center post nuts

holy sheep, THANKS ALOT! finally got it to work! btw, this was my very first genesis build, and i think i got lucky but i have no hotspots! well i had to fiddle with it for a bit, but it was good and only took me seconds to take that bad boy out. had it at 2.0 ohms. another question tho, it has this very weird taste, not that it bothers me so much, but it kinda mutes the flavor. is this normal?

If it has a off or metalic taste you have a hot spot. My guess is a top coil hot spot either tthat or your wick isnt keeping up. Fire it with the cap off for five six secs see if any parts are glowing red

yea, the top coil is glowing from the post to the top coil itself kinda bums me out. i've been fiddling with it for an hour now and i couldn't remove that thing. recoiled it, still the same. any tips on how to get that out?

Probably too much tension on the wire from the wick to the center post. See if loosening it helps...
