Never said Efest is not safe for the Precious. Just saying that Provape strongly recommends using only AW IMR's, enough that they say so multiple times.
Provape once offered Trustfire protected ICR batteries for the mechanical Provape-1 until I asked the tech engineers why, when it is common wisdom that IMR batteries are recommended for all mods over ICR batteries now. Provape responded that at one time the Trustfire protected ICR batteries were one of the few options available at that time, but with recent battery testing Provape decided to faze them out in favor of the AW IMR batteries now offered on the website. Provape responds to modern technology.

I have to admit to some personal bias againt Efest batteries. I have used both AW and Efest batteries side by side in rotation with each other, and have had much better success with AW. So much disappointment with Efest that they have been delegated to a dark corner in a drawer. Just my
Panasonic, Sanyo, Sony, and Samsung batteries are all
made in Japan. AW protected ICR batteries say they are "Made in China, cells and IC made in Japan" (re-wrapped Panasonics?). AW IMR's say, "Made in China." No Japanese battery manufacturers make a 18490 or 18350 size IMR battery, so who is making the AW IMR's? No one knows, and Andrew Wan ain't saying.
