I'm down to date a smoker but I'll turn her into a vaper for sure. ;) and I vape wherever I want for the most part. If I have a small PV. As long as I have an eGo or a 510 I don't really mind vaping wherever. I try my best to not let anyone see, I'll vape in empty isles and what not.

I almost got kicked out of a nightclub for vaping a year or so ago though. The 1st bouncer comes up to me, asks me to leave. I was like "its not a cigarette. Its the same thing coming out of your fog machines!!" he was like "oh its an e-cigarette? oh aright, no problem" couple hours pass, a 2nd guard comes up to me and grabbed it out of my hands, pointed to the door and told me to leave. I was like "Its an e-cigarette, I already spoke with the other guard" he was like "I dont give a .... what it is. Get out of here when your using it" I was like "what? I thought the other bouncer said they are allowed here?" He was like "no. do it outside." and he walked away with it in his hand?? I went over to my girl at the time and told her to stop using my other battery (i was using 510 batteries at the time) and so she put it away. then I had to go argue with the guy to give it back to me. I literally had to argue with him like his intention was to steal my e-cig? and this was an upscale bar. (or so it seemed) I finally got it back and went outside for a vape. This was early on when I first quit. There were so many smokers outside, my girlfriend ended up bumming cigarettes for us for the rest of the night. So idk, screw bars intolerant to vaping? Like come on? Your blowing tons of PG or VG into the air with your fog machines anyway. Unbelievable.

I called to speak with the owner a few times after that but never got ahold of her. Apparently she was the bartender that night. I vaped in front of her all night and she personally told me it was fine. I ended up writing a nice big negative review of the club on every review site I could find. I hope that bouncer learns a lesson one day. your not going to keep your job attempting to quietly steal someones belongings.

He was obviously overcompensating for shortcomings in other areas...many of those guys are...steroid use does terrible things to your body :)

My wife is lucky I love her to death. She hasn't quit smoking yet (haven't found the right combination for her in vaping gear), but yeah, that smell is ridiculous. I never ever remember smelling cigarette smoke on her until I quit.

I'll be really happy when she can forgo her before bed cigarette.

In the same boat...Im buying a shload of menthol for her this month in the hopes she finds something she likes.

I was a menthol smoker for years, and Volcano's Menthol got me interested in vaping...but it wasn't until I discovered the cinnamon flavor that I really *wanted* to vape. For myself, at least, it's the non-tobacco flavors that keep me going. I don't want to taste something that tries (and fails!) to taste like a cigarette. It even surprised myself.

I was amazed after a few weeks at how I could detect a smoker whilst out walking in the shopping centre or at the doctors office etc... It also surprised me how disgusting I thought the smell was!

I recently bought a small second hand car and it was blatantly apparent it was a smokers car. Now when it's cold I put the heater on and I can smell the smoke coming deep out of the heater vents when the system gets warm and it literally turns my stomach.

Very humbling for me.... I am sorry I put my three children through such similar sensory experiences noiw...

I converted in July. I thought the odor in my car had mostly dissipated....then I totaled the car in October. Got another car last month...was a non smoking car. What a difference! Was so bummed about losing my car at first...now I'm glad it's gone!

Had to deodorize a patient room at work today that had a smoker in it...yuk.

Yeah, i never truely noticed what people ment by smelling like an ashtray...I didn't smell anything! Haha! I always thought they were just trying to get on my nerves or something, until my girlfriend of over a year told me that I really did smell like crap when i smoked.

*shrugs* oh well, the past is the past and now on to the future!!!

That was the question on my mind today at work. A bunch of customers were crowded around the table and all I could smell was the smokers. Oh MY! I'm sooo glad I don't smell like that anymore.

Finally being 'able' to smell 'that' smell was a wake up call for me also. :smokie:

Well I am thinking that my 46 years of smoking has fried my sense of smell. I have still gone out with the smokers to vape a couple of times in the 3 weeks since I quit smoking and started vaping and I can barely smell it. Although I have to admit that even when I can smell it on someone - which is usually only if I hug someone that had just had one - it really doesn't bother me.

I even told my son when he has come over that he can still smoke in the house if he wants - but he refuses and goes outside (great kid I have). I am determined that I am not going to become one of "those" xsmokers that complains whenever someone smokes around me. I know how I hated it for the last 30 years - so I guess I am lucky so far that I am not getting that - oh my did I smell like that feeling

Somewhere
Reading this thread has made me so happy and GRATEFUL!

I have always had a very strong nose and weak stomach for bad smells. So, I was paranoid about the 'haze' of cigarette smoke around ME, and washed my hair at least one every single day for close to 30 hears. Twice if I had an evening dinner date or something - and I have long very fine hair that damages easily.

I never went to bed without blowing the hairdryer at my hair to try to blow out some of the smoke or the smell would wake me up during the night... I went through tons of hand sanitizer, wet wipes, mouth wash, hand lotion, Febreeze, incense, room deodorizer etc. Everything I wore, even outerwear was washed daily or put in for dry cleaning. I was always sick in the winter due to having all the doors and windows of the house and car WIDE open. I can't believe my family didn't kick me out lol...

Four years ago I ruined our ENTIRE expensive European rail travel vacation that we had saved for and planned for ages, by getting very sick with flu, bronchitis and finally phnumonia in the first week of our busy 4 week vacation. Reason being I was smoking outside in the snow at FREEZING temp of -17C at 4 AM outside the hotel in Stockholm, just in my PJ's and a coat lol... Going in and out and in and out because I couldn't sleep with jet lag and smoking indoors was strictly prohibited.

Now I realize, that even with all those precautions, I still SMELLED to other people. How embarrassing :(.

Now I have other problems... If I cook meat I can smell it for hours afterwards in the house, even with extractors, fresheners and doors open. Also being crunched agains a smoker in the train peak hour, makes me start heaving.... Can't win. Maybe I was a tracking dog in a previous life hehe... Still, I am SO grateful to be a non smoker.
