If so, it's been updated to a higher resolution for better quality printing: http://www.casaa.org/files/CASAA Medical infograph(4).pdf

This PDF info-graph was designed as a handout to give to your doctors, which they could then pass on to patients, so please print out a big stack for them!

It's recommended that you use a thicker paper, as it is two-sided and the back could bleed through to the front after printing.

This is an effective and inexpensive way for CASAA members to be e-cig advocates in your area!

I printed this out and took it with me to my Dr.'s appt today. He was GRATEFUL that he now had SOMETHING to give to his smoking patients. He also asked me the actual website that I got my ecig supplies from. I was definitely pleasantly surprised.

That's awesome! Glad to hear some doctors aren't believing the bull they are being fed by the antis about e-cigarettes!

CASAA staff, thank you for all of your hard work on our behalf. After showing my Doc my PV and being able to quit tobacco with it, he is a definite supporter of PV's. On my last visit he told me he has directed some of his other smoking patients to our alternative. I have a physical in January and will be printing out the pdf hand out from CASAA to give him. Would there be some benefit to referrence the two legal wins against the FDA in the hand out?

Thanks for the reminder WV - the back of the flyer does reference the case (in the second to the last section on the FDA position), but states the case is "pending" the appeal. We do need to update that sentence!

I'll update that this week - thanks for the heads-up!

Glad I could help. But you all do the heavy lifting. I'll be printing off the pdf for my doctor and just to have some on hand for the interested.

Last week, I went to see the doctor. My regular doctor was booked, so I saw another doctor in the same practice. I decided that since I'd never seen this doctor, she might have some questions about my e-cigarette use.

I was asked to fill out a quick information sheet to provide some basic information about my health and habits. For the question, "Do you smoke?" I checked "NO," and then added some information to the side: "Instead of smoking, I use an electronic cigarette. Daily, I use approximately 1.5-2 ml of a solution of 2.4% to 3.6% nicotine with propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and food flavorings. I have not smoked in 2 years, and I am a former 30-year, 2+ pack-a-day smoker."

Not all that surprisingly, the doctor had a few questions. In anticipation of that, I had brought a copy of the info-graph with me.

The doctor had heard a bit about e-cigarettes, and while she was concerned about quality control issues and dangerous additives (she specifically mentioned ......), she said that it was obviously working for me, and she wasn't going to do anything to discourage someone from using something that kept them from smoking. We talked for several minutes, and I asked her whether she might consider recommending e-cigarettes as an alternative to her patients who cannot or will not quit using government-approved NRTs and smoking cessation drugs. She paused and said, "I'm going to think about that, but I just might." She kept the info-graph as well as several CASAA cards.

All in all, a very productive visit. :)

It was extraordinarily helpful to have such a professional-looking brochure to give the doctor, as well as the CASAA cards. Many thanks. :)
