Diet Vaping

Hello,

Starting vaping a few weeks ago and so far I'm really enjoying it. Ive been smoking djarum specials for about 10 years now, and just ordered some Kretek juice from tasty vapors. Hopefully it will have a similar flavor. If so, bye bye coffin nails.

My girlfriend who is an ex smokers for about 4 years now, decided to start vaping, because she feels she lost weight when she was smoking. Ive also seen ads for non nicotine vapor sticks, specifically marketed for the diet market. They say that the flavor of the vapor can trick you into not eating as much. Was just wondering everyone's thoughts on the nicotine weight loss issue as well as the trick your mind effect.

I have lurked, read thru, and used so much information from here, I'm really glad this place exists and that so many people are a part of it.

Thats so funny as the last time I went on a high protein diet I craved cigarettes and foolishly started up again. (Must had something to do with no sugar). But the last time I started vaping when I started the high protein diet and it worked no cigarette cravings and lost 30lbs. So in my personal experience there is some validity to this thinking.... well I will swear to it!!

Yes this is very subjective. For me it made it to where I did not need sweets anymore. I am not big on sweets but never felt the need for them when i started vaping. I actually quit vaping after a while and did nothing. I noticed I ate more when I was not doing anything. Then craving for cig came in and now on that dumb road again. But when I started smoking again I was eating less. IDK like I said, subjective.

I think it's more about will-power and distracting your mind, than trying to kill hunger pains. I eat more often when I'm bored, smoking or not. Vaping hasn't changed that at all.

In fact, 8 months ago, I quit smoking and drinking and found out my girlfriend was pregnant. Since then, I switched to vaping, put on about 15-20 lbs, and we have a 6 week old in the apartment.

Well for me, now that I am not smoking analogs, my taste buds are getting better and I'm finding that I'm hungry constantly. The vaping doesn't noticeably lower my appetite.

Same here. Now that I can taste food I probably eat less fast food but I certainly eat more of the good stuff. I am eating healthier because I can taste the difference but the weight gain I have experienced is due to an increase in quantity.

Drink a lot of water. Not only will ecigs dry out your mouth requiring higher water consumption, but in general people feel thirst before hunger and often mistake the two. If you feel a snacking urge, drink a glass of water before eating anything and wait a few minutes. If the urge goes away, it was thirst. If it doesn't then have a small snack.

I've found that my increase in water consumption due to vaping has contributed to quite a bit of my weight loss since I quit smoking and with the sweet flavors available, I don't have the sweets cravings I used to.

Drinking a lot of water also helps flush out the toxins in your system which will speed up your detox from all the junk in cigarettes and unhealthy foods.
