Are you familiar with the theory of Ockham's Razor? It states that the logical (or simplest) explanation is typically the correct one. On one hand, we have a business that is run by Parker's brother, and the name 'dietsmokes' in the copyright line. On the other hand, Aliens came down and implanted the knowledge of our email addresses into Austen's brain then he got divine inspiration to follow it up with an email mentioning Dietsmokes in the ad.

I'm sorry if (and that's an IF, a quantifier... not a statement) fanboyism is keeping you from going from point A to point B.

I've only ordered from DS twice both small orders fanboyism has nothing to do with it. Why is this type of thread allowed to remain here, when many other similar threads are moved or deleted immediately?

Surely the number two rule in business is "don't do anything to piss off your customers". I think rule number one is going to need a clause about not selling dildos at the daycare.

This would not have made me angry, but it's got other people angry and that usually not a good sign. It does open up the question of "well who else are you going to be giving email addresses to?" and I really understand why that bothers people, in fact if I think about it very long it will probably bother me as well.

I notice that the dietsmokes website does not have a privacy policy. I guess any website without a privacy policy you use at your own risk. That's too bad, but I guess since there is no policy they are free to do whatever they wants with your email address without violating 'their' policies. That's too bad, I hadn't really thought about looking for privacy policies on the PV sites I order from. I would just assume it would be a given.

Maybe it's something that should be brought up in the supplier section and we should pressure all vendors to add privacy policies.

Honestly, I don't believe Privacy Policies do much anyway except try to allay fears. I don't believe there's anything illegal about selling/giving away mailing lists. I think it's unethical, and it just aggravates the folks who get unsolicited messages. Privacy notices just let you know they won't do it... but they aren't binding. But yeah... if you have a choice of someone who will or someone who won't, who ya gonna choose?

I'm holding my tongue for a bit until I hear from some people

Let me sorry to all the folks that are upset here are the facts

1st. DietsSmokes SOLD NOTHING !

2nd. DietSmokes does have a Ownership interest in BelowZeroLiquids.com

3rd. It's Also in the FAQ that what ever info you submit when ordering becomes
the property of DietSmokes.com or companies etc...... Just like every other business on the internet no difference they all have the same clause.

4th. this is the 3rd email DietSmokes has done 1 for DietSmokes and 2 for belowzero liquids.com The first e-mail send on 7-1 barfed and only sent out a fraction of the e-mails. Hence the reason for todays email.

5th. All rules were followed via rules of the "Can Spam Act" There is a"Opt Out" button for you to unsubscribe to any e-mails that you do not want in the future. IF you click the button it does just that quick and painless .

6th. Other vendors do the same thing some do it once a week once a month and once every quarter. I have bought from every vendor on here and except for a small few 70% of them send a mailer out as well.

7th. DietSmokes.com does not sell 0 nicotine liquid we did in the first week of business after that no more. This is why we did Belowzeroliquids.com a place for only non nicotine supplies. No place so far as done this. Being the good brother I am I decided to help my brother out in doing this.

8th. the forum is closed for new suppliers "Own Forums" Some of you might know that other will not there is a waiting list now i think from SJ told me 40 or more vendors in line for a spot. He told me i can put him in my own forum which i did. So I just gave him a little push to let people know that vape NON nicotine products where to get some supplies. Letting my customers know that I do not carry them and that my brother does!

Thanks

Parked

I will never understand why anyone would order from this guy, after his reviews turned out to be advertisements for his future business. I guess all the old users who remember this have left at this point and he has won... :nah:

Because I'm a hones guy and that kind of stuff right there is terrible and way misleading before knowing any facts !

That is just wrong !

But your entitled to your own opinions but if you have never ordered anything from me you should really be muted on that point !

Thanks

When I got the first email that Parker's little brother had started his own zero nic liquid business, I didn't think much about it. I figured Parker was being a nice big brother, and it was easy enough to delete the email.

I received the email today from belowzero, and it appears that I am now officially on belowzero's email list. Not happy.

To me, the initial announcement Parker sent was kind of iffy but not a huge deal. But there is a big difference between sending a customer an announcement (a one-time deal) versus signing them up for a whole new e-mail list.

And, yes, I can unsusbscribe, but I find it bothersome that someone subscribed me to begin with. And the thing that's annoying is I'm not sure what list I want to unsubscribe from--when I hit the "unsubscribe" button, it gives me two lists, and I have a feeling one is dietsmokes and the other is belowzero. Not sure which is which, so I guess I'll wind up unsubscribing from both. :(

I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but I can't help but think that in doing his brother a favor, Parker has ticked off a number of customers.

Exactly my point. We don't "know" anything was sold. If he has an ownership interst in the business then he is using info already in his possession.

At the very least this should be moved to the Dietsmokes forum where it can be addressed. This isn't the place for it.

The fact that the brother's company has the dietsmokes copyright substantiates your point.

The email is actually from dietsmokes. It would be like if you signed up for emails from Coke and got some emails on Sprite (owned by Coke).

I don't see a problem and I second the forum move.
