Friend of mine that I've been mixing juice for picked me (us) up a spool of this today. It's boiled and drying. Excited!!
Make sure to log your results here as i have not tried yarns yet. Ropes, twine, cloth and wools but no yarns.

I think you'll love it for sure. What are you using if you don't mind my asking?
Just had a big rebuild/rewick session!
Everything got the new peaches and cream except for my Drunker (Built Wednesday - I just thinned out the cheesecloth and smashed the coils together because it wasn't wicking right), and my IGO-L, because a girl needs to vape SOMETHING while everything else soaks.
Got a freebie AGA-S from a vape shop for helping out with their wick/coil tutorial. Set that up with the p&c too. We'll see how it goes... The airhole on that thing needs to be drilled out. I might even drill out the wick hole. I'll try it out stock though.
I have ... 5 new (6 total) RBAs in the mail to me right now. Plus a gizmo that'll help the A7 hold a ton more juice. Different things including a handful of drippers and one thing that I can honestly say I don't know what to expect... But no hints for you until it gets here!I have some AWESOME vapemail coming this week.

I honestly think you should start either a vape blog or doing steady reviews. You own so much stuff and have such a good grasp on rebuilding all this stuff, your knowledge would be a great asset to the community. I for one would love to know how the IGO-L does with the yarn, and what it is that allows the A7 to hold more juice -- and I am not a person who doesn't read up regularly, yet I don't know either of these things.
Think about it!![]()
I've been thinking of several different ventures/avenues for this type of thing. I need to organize my thoughts and organize my gear and get my .... into motion. But maybe at some point down the line I'll have something consistent going...![]()
I did my first 100 percent Cotton yarn wick today and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. I boiled the cotton first and allowed it to dry completely... then did a 4/5 (32 gauge) Kanthal wire wrap and installed it into my Phoenix RBA. I allowed around 15 minutes to 'soak' in the eJuices (I know! Should have been much longer but I was curious!).... and! I'm happy to report I have had no problems with any dry burning or anything like that. Out of the gate it performed (far better) than the 2mm Silica wicking. The flavor is much much better and I'm even getting more vapor (which surprised me) using the same juices I used with the Silica wicking. Another thing I noticed, (which I was wondering anyone else has experienced), is my Kanthal wire is NOT getting gunked up/or charred like it does with the Silica. My VV GS Sub 2.0 mod indicates almost 100 vapes since installation and usually the wick/wire is already pretty gunked up and charred looking by now.... but honestly, I keep checking and my wick/wire are still shiny and silver (Well, the wick is still white and the wire is silver).... which is really kind of blowing my mind... in a good way. Has any one else noticed this enhanced performance with your wire & wicks since transitioning to cotton?

With cotton its absorbency and capillary action provides enough cooling and temperature control to keep things at less than burning temperatures.
So I did hybrid mesh/cotton for AGA-T+, .....
So I did hybrid mesh/cotton for AGA-T+, it does work... but the flavor is not there at all. It's very faint so is vapor production. Comparing flavor to dripping rba and clouds to one time I managed to get it work for few hours with mesh wick...
second time I wrapped some cotton around wick, after burning away last one, and it was too much cotton? It was over saturated to the point when I couldn't get vapor with 4.2 volts on 2.2 resistance...
Third try, with much less cotton. 2.2 ohms, 3.9 volts and no flavor... no clouds... 4.1 volts and full mouth of burnt cotton...
What am I doing wrong?
Mesh was lightly burnt before wrapping and torched twice, without quench, after wrapping.
