I wash mine out between flavors with hot water but don't leave water in the syringe between use and make sure it is complete dried out (remove tip and plunger). I don't like using a syringe that might have want water residue in it for measuring flavors since I don't want to mix any water with the flavor (or anything else) so always work with dry ones, then wash and allow to dry for next use. Storing them with water in them is not a good idea even if you use them every day - you can get bacterial growth in as little as 2 hours. Might not seem like much could grow in there in 24 hours and if you rise them under hot running water before it should remove anything but since I am inhaling the juice I would rather it bee as clean as possible. Even if you have access to sterile water (distilled is not sterile) its no longer sterile once it touches the air.
I got this finicky after taking a tour and watching a local company that prepares e-juice and they dispose of everything after each use and for each different ingredient (not something the DIY'ers can afford most likely although bulk from the drug store is very cheap) for quality control and safety reasons.
